I hear what you’re saying but....

I think he’s done. After RINOs Bush I, Dole, Bush II, McCain and Romney, the heart of the party—regular people—NOT the Rove-style consultants and Moscow-on-the-Potomac GOPe—is seriously looking for something different.

I do believe a battle royale is coming. If the GOPe pushes TEA partiers and conservatives out THIS time, there will be massive abandonment of the Republican party.

Last year I fought heavily with the anti-Mitts because, hey, he was better than Obama. And I still think Mitt would have been better than Obama, and Obama’s reelection has seriously screwed us over, with the damage to be yet unknown, but extensive.

However, I AM DONE. Yes me, Alas Babylon!, loyal Republican, has had his fill. I will not pull the lever (actually, fill in the circle with a number 2 pencil) for a RINO again.

I believe there are millions more coming to the same conclusion. The GOPe has got to take notice. Will they?

If Jeb is the nominee, there’s no way in Hell he’ll get my vote.

Oh AB....me neither.

This immigration bill, as I typed last week, is my “line in the sand”. I am already furious at the Elite Republicans in the House of Lords but let our Country Class Representatives mess this up and I shall change parties and never vote Republican again.

I am as sick of the National Republican party as you are but, if we all give up and vote anyone but, we are the ones that will be screwed. We need to do more than complain on the blogs, etc. Get active in the party. It will take time to undo what we have allowed to happen. At lease, in Alabama, we have made great strides.

My state GOP primaries are so late in the spring that the nominee is usually decided weeks in advance. Thus, our presidential primary votes are irrelevant.

On the plus side, that gives me the opportunity to throw mud* at all of the wannabes, because there is no reason to endorse any of them.

Now, if the GOP got struck by lightning and actually nominated a real charismatic conservative, the whole spectrum would change.

Not to belabor a hackneyed expression but THAT’S what I’m talking about.

I made a bet with my neighbor - who is praying for the GOP to retake the Senate - that the GOP is finished and will not even keep the House in 2014. The straw that will break the camel's back will be Comprehensive RAT Voting Act of 2013.

I am doubtful that any Republican potential candidate names being floated at this time has any substance beyond exploring for political possibilities and advantage. I voted for Romney because I believed he was an American first and was actually the only GOP candidate in the primary who was capable of winning the national election. IMO none of the other candidates, no matter how likable and possibly more conservative, was capable of the leadership required to actually do justice to the job needing to be done for this Republic. I would vote Mitt again.

The Republican party holds the apparatus for the huge job required to function meaningfully in national elections and I do not see any third party being able to overcome the years it takes to develop a new party. I am a Tea Party supporter and will do what I can to promote and support TP candidates and if that derails the GOP, so be it. I believe in letting the chips fall and putting our country's interests first, always.

My breaking point is the Immigration issue. If each state would publicize and inform their citizens of the consequences to their daily lives if a million or more additional residents are sent to populate their state, the reality would likely sober the present residents who are either complicit in this invasion or unaware of what is happening. Daily lives for state residents will drastically change when the magnitude of population increase impacts their whole social fabric and overwhelms their state govt facilities.
Obama and the forces that put him in place are not alone in trying to overwhelm our present govt. The Republicans have
had years to get meaningful immigration reform enacted and I conclude that their leaders are complicit in keeping the situation corrupt. The voting fraud alone that accompanies the current immigration push will be instant death to the Republican party if enacted.

Time is short for Republicans to do anything but hold the fort until next years election. We have to have strong candidates who can handle the pressure to conform coming from their own party. I do have my limits, as you yourself do. The GOP will take it's base for granted at their own peril.
