UPDATE III: The apparent passenger adds, "Lots of activity here. Friends, pls don't call right now. I'm fine. Most people are totally calm and trying to let the fire and rescue do their jobs. Just like during 9/11, most people are great and try to be helpful in crisis... David Eun"
UPDATE IV: A "loud boom" was reportedly heard by witnesses:
**Eyewitnesses report ‘loud boom’ before impact..**
Remember girls, if the eyewitness accounts are at variance with our agenda, go with the official story.
But the Video I just linked too,...looks like the tail hit at the end of the runway.
While thanking flight attendants, Greta decided to thank lawyers for making planes safer.
Yes, I think that guy gets credit for breaking the story with his tweet. I first saw it over at Ace of Spades Mr. Eun got re-tweeted by Dan Riehl. When I came over here even Drudge and the Radio didn’t have it, per the thread.
Mr. Eun is some kind of exec with Sony or something, I just read elsewhere.
I hope it wasn’t the infant who was killed, they just sit on mom or dad’s lap.
The debris starts at the seawall at the end of the runway. It appears that it came in too low and clipped the seawall.
I guess what surprises me is that, even given that this was a Saturday afternoon and the “B” team was on the field, that it took ostensible news networks so long to begin collecting and properly interpreting real news, instead of regurgitating few facts and speculating unintelligent on those few facts.
I also find it quite amazing the the kinetic energy that the plane had as it approached land, was dissipated by the impact, shearing off the tail, then in the collapse of the landing gear and the slide the seemingly short distance to where it came to rest. Even if these pilots are $hitcanned, they were very lucky in this situation.
I don’t know why, but that mushroom cloud explosion that killed a few fireman in West, Texas, largest explosion in at least 80 years, was a mere 3 minute mention 3 times on cable news, but..........you get the drift..........That National Guard General at Katrina said something about “stuck on stupid” about the President and coverage.......Well, I don’t think a mushroom cloud that blows out windows 15 or 25 miles away warrants a stupid label while 2 idiots set off pressure cookers with included beans in Boston.
As soon as Drudge posted his siren alert I turned on the telly, and I have been appalled at the stupidity that both FNC and CNN repeated during the first 45 minutes of coverage. All this about cartwheeling and rolling over is impossible to believe if you have any sense of simple physics and saw the debris pattern emanating from the seawall at the absolute end of the approach to runway 28L (and the relatively intact fuselage and wings.) Both networks spent a lot of time speculating in a way that made no sense given the clear visual evidence of where everything came to rest.

Since July 1, This plane had been everywhere.

I see people walking off the plane with some carrying their luggage. I wonder it they were holding up/blocking the aisles while they were getting there belongings from the overhead compartments.
.... terrorism has been ruled out, said San Francisco Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White.
If it ain’t Boeing, I ain’t going!
A plastic airbus wagon would have dumped everyone on the Tarmac !
From what I can tell from the photos, there are two possible causes - 1) pilot error in which the pilot lost the “feel” for his wheels or 2) altimeter error. This could still be pilot error if the pilot set the altimeter incorrectly on approach or if there was a mechanical problem with the altimeter.
It will be interesting to see the NTSA’s report when they release it months from now.
not that this is any better, but i assumed people walked off with under the seat luggage...
