If the missing Air to Air missiles in Libya had anything to do with it will certainly be covered up.

Looks like a low approach. Boulders are dislodged on water’s edge, debris starts there, and shortly down the strip there are the three tail surfaces and landing gear torn off.

Gonna take a lot of duct tape and grabber screws to fix this bad boy.

"Anthony Castorani, who saw the flight land from a nearby hotel, said he saw the plane touch the ground then noticed a larger plume of white smoke. "You heard a pop and you immediately saw a large, brief fireball that came from underneath the aircraft," he told CNN. "It began to cartwheel."

Is this a bomb going off or the result of a plane coming in too low for a landing?

Just spoke to my brother that is a senior check pilot on the 777 for Delta. He said it really seemed like he landed short and knocked the tail off. More data is needed as to why he did that.

I guess there’s absolutely nothing else happening in the world today as FOX News (and others) has been on this story non-stop for hours.......

My best wild guess from looking at the pictures, plane experienced downward wind draft, this caused the plane’s engine’s and landing gears to be taken out by the wall. Impact was so hard that the tail came off and feel in to the water.

The hot right side engine rolled with the plane and ended up next to the cabin, heated it up and that’s how the fire started.

In that photo posted on Twitter it would seem that passengers had time to take their carry-on off the plan. Apparently people were not so worried at all...

Water in the fuel froze into a slush and caused lack of engine power...this caused a similar 777 crash in the UK several years ago.

This is looking to be a fairly simple case of a failure of the stick actuator. Also known as pilot error. Asian airlines have a real issue in their culture. The captains are treated like GOD. Unchallengeable. So if this was a newly promoted weak stick captain... and a new hire copilot, look out.
Old saying in aviation. Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. I wonder if that applies to the passengers?
