Near as I can tell that is a Legion of Merit lapel pin uncle is wearing, and they don’t come in Cracker Jack boxes.
I did a search to see what the lapel pin meant. Exceptional service. And $5.99 will get you one on Ebay! What is up with that? I always figured this kind of stuff was just run through the military.
