Didn’t Honeywell announce a Utility Controlled thermostat for newly built homes? I bet the EPA is absolutely ecstatic!
This is just one of a long laundry list of liberals to meet our increased energy demand in the USA by using efficient means to reduce consumption. Another “idea” is to use your electric car to store power and allow the electric company to tap into it in peek times of demand. Go figure! If you want to know more cheek out National Council of State Legislators (NCSL).
These are the same Nazi bass turds who kept saying the Republicans want to take away their freedom and liberty and control their lives. It’s getting worse here than it was in the old Soviet Union and Third Reich. Total control liberals are in charge now.
Trial balloon. If Obama’s NAZIs get away with this your furnace and air conditioner are NEXT.
And yet the government wants the ability to mess with *my* standard size Kenmore fridge.
Consider this:
ADT is the largest provider of home security in the country. They and others are rapidly installing “pulse” and other “branded” home security systems that can also control virtually any home appliance from your smartphone, tablet or internet connection.
The software connects to the home via a wireless carrier such as AT&T etc...
All that would be required is either legislation or some EPA rule that would grant the gov’t or your power company access to your system during “emergencies” and they would have control of how much power you consume.
Good luck controlling the Servels still out there.
Instead of threatening America with food poisoning, a far better alternative would be to start insulating commercial refrigerators and ovens with thin sheet aerogel. Once they were at temperature, they would stay there a lot longer without additional energy.
That is, unless the objective of the EPA *is* to give America food poisoning, while wasting vast amounts of perishable food.
EPA Encourages Utility-Controlled Refrigerators for the White House
From my experience, a heat lamp placed near the thermostat will defeat a locked thermostat cage and temperature can be controlled by moving the heat lamp...
Older units with the mercury switch could also be tilted a bit to achieve the desired effect.
Guess who will have the coldest refrigerator in town ?
“The capital flew into a bit of a tizzy when, on his first full day in the White House, President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat. Hes from Hawaii, O.K.? said Mr. Obamas senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there. During the campaign Obama said: We cant drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK, Obama said. Thats not leadership. Thats not going to happen, he added. “ — from 2009
Screw the EPA. I had my so-called smart meter removed some months ago.
This is going to cause a lot of food borne illness.
I was talking to parents while in PA this past weekend and found out the Amish have refrigerators that run on propane. Love to find me one.

I pay a fine of $12 a month for NOT allowing them to put a ‘smart meter’ on my house.
I’m an ole great-granny living alone 0 and I reemed that guy with the smart meter under his arm out six ways to Sunday - He was dertermined he was going to pu it on. I sent him packing -
Anyone who did due diligence - research - on these things and allowed them to be installed - deserve what they’re going to get - except those in areas where not enough people came out and said NO WAY - and weren’t left with the opt-out option.
Those meters read the electrical signal of everything you use in your house. they can tell what kind of toaster or hair dryer you use - and when and for how long.
They can shut off your furnace - like a country in Europe, I forget which one - their heat doesn’t get turned on until Nov - no matter the actual temperature - and off again in March - no matter.
Remember, dear leader warned us all (meantime he has the oval office turned up to 77 in the winter - says) “You can’t have your furnace on 72...

And none of the above even gets into the radiation issues about these meters -
Welcome to the New World you are allwoing -
I’d like to curb the EPA.
The other day I was in an antique store and saw a nice piece of furniture. Turned out to be an ice box. I thought of purchasing it as a joke. Now I’m not so sure. I may need it after all!
