The Egyptian army has set a deadline of 4 p.m. Cairo time for the Muslim Brotherhood government of President Morsi to compromise with the people of Egypt (by stepping down.) Morsi refuses. 18 people were killed and 200 were wounded in clashes at Cairo University last night.
A Washington Post report from Cairo on dueling statements from Morsi and the army:
Waving his hands and shaking his fists in a 45-minute speech on national television late Tuesday, Morsi swore that he was committed to the democratic process that brought him to power and said that any attempts to subvert the constitution were “unacceptable.”
The army, in turn, posted a message to its Facebook page saying: “We swear to God that we will sacrifice even our blood for Egypt and its people, to defend them against any terrorist, radical or fool.”
In his speech, Morsi acknowledged that he had made mistakes during his year in office as Egypt’s first democratically elected president. But he appealed to Egyptians to give him more time to deal with the country’s problems.

I listened to rebel leaders calling for a peaceful demo, as always by rebels, in front of the American embassy (a walking distance from Tahrir, in the Garden City District.)
An opposing voice to the young leaders is advising them NOT to give a reason to CNN and Al Jazeera to foment rumors of “violence against Americans” and give our administration the execuse they desperately need to stop the Tamarod gains and put pressure on the military.
BTW, even if the rebels try to go there, the army is blocking the roads to the American embassy. 0b0z0 can’t complain about protection of the embassy and American personnel.

The army said:
“So far the army didn’t use live ammo against Morsi’s demonstrators.
It is NOT true that there are dead and injured in front of the Republican Guards HQ!”
Wow! It looks like the army is listening to the anti-rebel media campaign by foreign media and countering their lies immediately.
Been carching what little I could catch in vetween the S trial. Looks very bad. What was the thing about zero giving the green light for civil war?
These creeps don’t know what a peaceful demonstration is.... I am seeing they are posting bloody bodies of course...you can never know if current or they are just posting them from other demonstrations...so I try to check dates but often there are none.
As usual they even make it difficult for reporters and those trying to follow this...so often it’s all about the blood and their victimization mentality.
I heard that on OWN TV live feed. The only way for our admin to defend the MB is to “see” a civil war and failure of the military and the civilian government.
