The Egyptian army has set a deadline of 4 p.m. Cairo time for the Muslim Brotherhood government of President Morsi to compromise with the people of Egypt (by stepping down.) Morsi refuses. 18 people were killed and 200 were wounded in clashes at Cairo University last night.
A Washington Post report from Cairo on dueling statements from Morsi and the army:
Waving his hands and shaking his fists in a 45-minute speech on national television late Tuesday, Morsi swore that he was committed to the democratic process that brought him to power and said that any attempts to subvert the constitution were unacceptable.
The army, in turn, posted a message to its Facebook page saying: We swear to God that we will sacrifice even our blood for Egypt and its people, to defend them against any terrorist, radical or fool.
In his speech, Morsi acknowledged that he had made mistakes during his year in office as Egypts first democratically elected president. But he appealed to Egyptians to give him more time to deal with the countrys problems.

This is the same stuff that went down during the revolution in Iran.
That is the only way the entire bunch of them will be stopped.
See, in Europe, they get it because of their various media that allow them to read the news, slanted or not.
Ours is bent over with their head in the gutter.
“Violent protestors pro morsey attacking cars and blocking streets acting like hooligans”
They ARE worse than hooligans, they are killers!
Praying God will keep the Internet without restraints...but that too is coming where those lines of communication will be shutdown...the adminstration has that power already.
It’ll likely get nasty there even with the military efforts....the Muslim Brotherhood called for a “Holy War” against Egypt a couple days ago....so all the thuggery and killers from the nations will be pouring in at some point...hopefully the arm will nail them down once and for all...but not without bloodshed.
These people have such evil and dark faces ....you can see their hatred so vivdly.
I witnessed some of this same stuff when I was in Iran during the revolution. As you said there will probably be bloodshed. This bloodshed could be on a high scale and we as a nation will get our troops involved all for the furtherance of some stupid agenda by our current administration.
Muslim Brotherhood should NEVER have any part in any governance....they will use those positions ONLY to secure their agenda where they can...
I don't see Egypt the same as Iran. ..the people arose to make certain their country would not become Islamic...but moreso the Location of Egypt positions them well. They're on the Mediterranean Sea close prox. to Europe....plus they can live peacefully with Israel. But that's why the Muslim Brotherhood will always being in the wings there...Egypt isn't called a “Jewel” for nothing!
Oh my gosh...he’s flippin the bird at O? Could easily be mistaken for the peace sign....LOLOLOL thanks for catching that.
Happy Fourth Celebrations from CAW Here on the FR Arab Street!
Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr Hone’s call to Kerry:
... he assured U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry in a telephone call on Thursday that the overthrow of President Mohamed Mursi had not been a military coup.
....”I hope that they read the situation in the right way, that this is not a military coup in any way. This was actually the overwhelming will of the people.”
Additionally...by telephone with more than a dozen foreign ministers and the United Nations secretary general on Thursday.....
...He said he told them:
“Definitely what happened was not a military coup. I know that last night and today some people are saying this. Of course, I can understand. But what happened, definitely, definitely, was not a military coup.”
He said the move had been driven by the massive popular demonstrations on Sunday against Mursi, which had persuaded the armed forces to intervene and suspend the constitution. Noting a roadmap set out for holding new elections, he said:
“There is no role, no political role whatsoever, for the military ... This is the total opposite of a military coup.”
