The Egyptian army has set a deadline of 4 p.m. Cairo time for the Muslim Brotherhood government of President Morsi to compromise with the people of Egypt (by stepping down.) Morsi refuses. 18 people were killed and 200 were wounded in clashes at Cairo University last night.
A Washington Post report from Cairo on dueling statements from Morsi and the army:
Waving his hands and shaking his fists in a 45-minute speech on national television late Tuesday, Morsi swore that he was committed to the democratic process that brought him to power and said that any attempts to subvert the constitution were unacceptable.
The army, in turn, posted a message to its Facebook page saying: We swear to God that we will sacrifice even our blood for Egypt and its people, to defend them against any terrorist, radical or fool.
In his speech, Morsi acknowledged that he had made mistakes during his year in office as Egypts first democratically elected president. But he appealed to Egyptians to give him more time to deal with the countrys problems.
Link to originial FR thread from Friday with many amazing photos.
22:15 Live footage shows thousands of Morsi’s supporters gathered in front of Cairo University to protest the army’s announcement.
Yasser Soliman, a supporter of Morsi, said the military’s announcement is an implicit call for civil war.
“The army chose to appease one part of the population against the other. They [the military] are basically setting the streets on fire, calling for civil war. These people [Morsi’s supporters] are willing to sacrifice their life in this situation,” Soliman said in a live interview with Al Jazeera International, speaking from in front of Cairo University.
“No other president could have solved the economy’s problems in one year. His opponents used violence to pressure him; why didnt they just wait for next elections?” he continued.
Thanks so much for all your hard work on this thread!!!!

Former Ambassador & TV Commentator: Not Military Coup. Popular Impeachment #Egypt

Exactly, but TV news seems ill-informed or unwilling to accept that fact.
Will be interesting to see what Obama/WH first statements “evolve.”
I posted my bet: “The people have spoken.” lol!

You know...I wouldn’t mind some of that here. The press has hidden the Obama tape (LA Times). Not demanding Obama release all of his records—college. Covering for our governments wrong-doings. Fanning the flames of racial hatred. The MSM doesn’t report the news and facts, they create news and slant it to their ideology. I am repulsed by the MSM.
CNN reports the sound of gunfire near pro-Morsi demonstrators, adding that Muslim Brotherhood followers had been training with sticks in preparation for violence. The crowd is chanting “victory or martyrdom.” The Egyptian military, CNN reports, is 400 to 500 yards down from the pro-Morsi demonstrations.

Might need a Tank or two there guys!
Can’t disagree with anything you said.
“The crowd is chanting victory or martyrdom.
Sure, give to them. Isn’t it now a free country?
The MB forced Egypt to free itself at last.
22:40 Bashar Al-Assad, president of Syria, has said that events in Egypt are “the fall of what is called political Islam,” reports Reuters. Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood had been vocal allies of the Syrian president, calling for foreign intervention against him.
22:35 Head of the High Constitutional Court Adly Mansour will take the oath of office on Thursday, becoming Egypt’s new president.
lol!

Is the MSM MAKING “intentional” mistakes?

This was too easy. Have this nagging feeling that there is more to come.
