Megyn Kelly is moving to primetime for Fox News Channel, the network announced this afternoon. But to which hour, is not known. Since 2010, Kelly has anchored the two-hour afternoon show America Live.
Megyn is an exceptional talent who has successfully filled and surpassed each role we have given her at the network, Fox News chairman and CEO Roger Ailes said in a statement. Her ability to command the screen, delve into the facts and lead a debate is what makes her one of the most sought-after anchors in the business.
Kelly signed a new contract with Fox News in May. Last fall, before negotiations got underway, Ailes told TVNewser, We have a great relationship. Eventually, wed love her to stay here and be even a bigger star.
Roger Ailes hired me nine years ago when I was new to this business and he had little other than instinct to suggest it might work out, Kelly says. I was grateful to him then, remain so today, and am excited for this next opportunity.
The move is scheduled to happen after Kelly returns from maternity leave. But it was not announced, and it is not immediately clear, which primetime hour Kelly will anchor. Primetime in cable news typically means 8-11pm. Fox News Channels top two shows are OReilly at 8pm and Hannity at 9pm. On the Record with Greta Van Susteren at 10pm just finished the second quarter as the sixth-most watched show on Fox News,
The network also announced that it has signed long-term deals with Van Susteren, as well as with Bret Baier, Shepard Smith, Bill OReilly and Sean Hannity. Adding intrigue into what may come next, Mediaite reported that earlier this spring Van Susteren met with CNN chief Jeff Zucker inquiring about a potential return to CNN.

Megyn’s my favorite, was a bit surprised how she ravaged Snowden, which is the only reason I started watching news again since Nov 08.
Whatever happened to that America One (?) that conservative channel that was supposed to air this summer?
Gutfeld?
Honestly that whole primetime lineup takes a lot of vacations.
They either do that or pretape specials.
Hadn’t heard of it.
The Blaze is certainly up and running and certainly is a viable alternative!

I wish it had been Bret Baier to go. Special Report is much better when anyone else is hosting. He has trouble forming a complete sentence without an "um" or "uh" if he's off teleprompter.
Bret Baier sure ain't no Brit Hume.
They won’t cancel the five as it is the second rated show on the network behind Oreilly. Or was at one time.
The five is pretty popular too. That’s Gutfeld’s shtick.
Some of it’s funny.. some of it is hilarious. Some of it is not. lol.
Let Megyn have O'Bloviator's spot and get a 60 point bump in IQ just for starters.
Ted Baxter? Who is that?
I used to love watching Megyn Kelly until she became, or maybe she always was, a huge advocate for the LGBT crowd. She really pounced all over Dr. ablow about teaching children about transvestites...if I remember correctly that was the topic. He refused to say people were born that way...she was all for children being around it, taught it, being adopted by them, being left in their care, etc.....very disturbing. Made me see her in a whole different light.
Need to give Laura Ingraham a real show at night instead of just subbing for O’Reilly.
She is wonderful!
I agree. I have always found Greta to be "fair and balanced" in interviews. Frankly, I'd like to see Megyn replace O'Bloviator.
I’d say with some degree of certainty that it will be Shep’s 5:00 PM slot.
Meagyn is hot, but check our Laurie Dhue on her show on The Blaze. Homina homina!
Agreed!
Laurie is smart AND beautiful!

First I’ve heard of it.
She is wonderful!”
She sure bumped heads last week while subbing for BOR. She made mince meat of Norm Coleman on the Amnesty issue.
Agree—Greta makes the guests answer her questions! Wouldn’t miss Shep either.
