Unfortunately, that is not true. If you lie to a federal officer during an interview, even when you are not under oath, you can go to jail. Just ask Martha Stewart and Scooter Libby.


That’s different. They didn’t go to jail for lying.

I don't know about Scooter, but Martha did go to jail for lying, formally "obstructing justice."

That might come as a bit of news to Ms. Stewart. And I guess that wasn't Clemency granted Mr. Libbey.
