Most gated communities are NOT public highways.
This emphatically was not, on 2/26/12. The HOA president in dismissing the need tor a neighborhood watch said that the streets are now public, and patrolled by the police.
1960-2000, I lved in a community of 150 family workingman family homes.
No HOA, no Community Watch, just watching out for each other. We had one Peeping Tom(who turned out as a(Black female). A teenage drunk driver, not from the area(damaged 2 cars and a fence. Two others that had broken into homes, when no one was home.
When 911 was called and the Sheriffs arrived, they found all perps with tiewraps and waiting for them. One young deputy cut the tiewraps on the teenager and proceedeed to kick his as kicked by the kid, until we stepped in.
The deputirs in each case asked for witnesses, they were answer the way Obama and Holder appointees did! “Not Me”!
public means “domesticated” streets which allows police to enforce traffic infractions. If a police officer can write a stop sign or speeding ticket in that neighborhood then the streets are public.
IOW gated communities are NOT no entry zones. The only true gated community with no real entry is fischer island with a resident only ferryboat.
