Today, July 1st, is DAY #16 (of 4th week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case.

Last week the prosecution feebly presented the first series of witnesses against George Zimmerman. However, as most observers would note, the witnesses called by the state have so far been more beneficial for the Zimmerman Self-Defense position.

Which is roughly several orders of magnitude below “beyond a reasonable doubt.”

I don't think this is going to swing on "reasonable doubt," which is the law. I think it may end up being about riot prevention, which could be the biggest miscarriage of justice we've seen in my lifetime.

It would signal the move of justice from a system of laws to a system to protect whoever has the monopoly on violence, in this case black thugs. One man will have to be thrown to the wolves to prevent riots by black thugs. As long as people fear reprisals from black thugs, that will take priority over quaint silliness like whether or not someone is actually guilty of something.

If Zimmerman goes to jail for this, we're in for some very difficult times ahead.

I might also add, when there is a spoiled, over indulged, minority that holds society hostage as a way of life, this is what happens. This race crap must stop, the bucket is overflowing. There is plenty more in this nation to worry about than how African Americans feel.

No. Recording would not create delay. The digital nature of modern phone communications creates delay.

Your voice gets broken down into data packets, at the rate of 8,000 7-bit packets per second. As each packet gets passed from node to node, there is a delay. If the carrier converts the voice into voice-over-IP to save capacity, there is even more delay as it gets passed node-to-node.

I don't think the judge can set aside an acquittal in a criminal case. Only a guilty verdict where there was no evidence to support guilt.

The judge can call for a directed verdict of not guilty if the prosecution fails to meet the burden of proof as the judge sees it.

At least that's what I read on Wikipedia, so that makes me an expert on the matter.

We are on the same page, but I believe that has already happened. I believe that both the R’s and D’s gave the 2012 election to Obama to prevent our cities burning. Look at the rhetoric from both sides, even Obama, in the weeks preceding the election.
