‘Cuz we all need another President Clinton?

I stay in the Republican party so in all (local, state, and national) primary elections I can vote for the most conservative Republican. Yes, a lot of people have already left the Republican party which may be why we end up with the likes of Mitt Romney.

But, there are to many loyal GOP to make a third party, conservative as it may be, viable in the foreseeable future IMHO. If conservatives come back they can once again be the majority of the Republican party and win primaries. Otherwise, it's conservative vs RINO vs liberal. Who do you think will win?

I like to see with clear-eyed realism. W was the best of the Bushes. I didn’t say he was great compared to non-Bushie conservatives, I said he was the best of the Bush lot. It’s downhill from there. So I agree with those who say, “no more Bushes”, and I wish we had not gone from a Reagan to a Bush in 1988. At the time I was happy that Dukakis didn’t win, but that’s another story. The best thing HW EVER did was give it back to Dan Rather as good as he got from Mr. “Courage”. Then HW went downhill from there.

A good example of your thoughts about W is Mark Levin. Mark criticizes W a LOT on specific points, and like you, Mark believes W’s administration led us toward the much worse, but similar in that the government is ever growing, Obama regime. But whenever Mark speaks of this, he just about always says that W was, is one of the most decent men he’s ever known. As a media member he had a couple of meetings with W in the WH and is unequivocal in his praise of W personally, while being livid over America’s direction under W and Republicans in general.

For myself, I see clearly some good things W did. Good for America. However there are the destructive trends he contributed to, as well, to consider.

I thank him forever for saving us from Al Gore.

The question is, what were we being saved FOR? Merely to get Obama, Pelosi and Reid a few years down the road. And an utterly decimated America?

I like the “Freedom” moniker. Even more than “tea party”. Has better stage presence in my opinion.
Wonder what it takes to organize this new party that if done properly could take at least half or more of the establishment GOP and a good percentage of "sick of Harry and Odumbo" Dems. I think it would soar. What say you holdonnow?

Yes, "Freedom" has a presence!

I think our first mission is to STOP the House from writing anything that can go to reconciliation.

All the House must do is KILL the Senate's bill, and the House can do that by not taking it up.

When we make our calls to the House members, please mention Sarah Palin, so that members will know we're leaving the GOP with her, IF they don't KILL the Senate's bill.

Paul Ryan Leading House for 'Amnesty' Deal = TRAITOR Deluxe!

Every discussion during every selection cycle goes like this:

"If you don't agree with me, you're just stupid."
"If you don't agree with ME, it's YOU who are stupid."
"No, YOU'RE stupid!"
"No, YOU'RE STUPID!"
"RINO!!
"RINO!!
"RINO!!

In the eyes of certain FReepers, Reagan was a RINO - he cut and ran from Lebanon, gave amnesty to illegals, and raised taxes. In their eyes, HE’S JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

In the eyes of certain FReepers, Jesus Christ was a RINO - He befriended and forgave tax collectors, advised people to pay their taxes to the government, and consorted with known prostitutes. In their eyes, HE’S JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Which begs the question, why did we end up with Bishop Willard from Planet Kolob as the GOPe nominee?

Because in the case of every conservative candidate, the cry went out: YOUR GUY’S JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

The FReeper’s Definition of Conservative: “I'm not sure, but whatever it is, it sure as hell ain’t YOU!!!”

So, why are you wasting time writing letters and emails to people who by your own admission, no longer listen to you?

Now, let's examine Palin: lost once, quit twice, took the money and ran. Not exactly inspirational leadership. "Oh, but she SOUNDS great speaking, and the crowds tell you how popular she is!" So what, haven't we had THAT for the last six years? And what great speaking: when the sheep hear her, they don't hear Palin, they hear Tina Fey. You will never win them over.

The time of the ballot box in America is over.

The time of the mail box and the soap box is rapidly ending.

That leaves only one box left. Get yours, while it's still legal...

Wha wha wha, if you start a 3rd party, it'll juss give the democrats..wha wha wha...yuzzz guyz can't do that. We gotta change the party from the inside yuzzz guyz.

I'm done with the republican party!! I've always been an independent conservative (with a tiny tad libertarianism) but over the last two election cycles, tried to give the Pubs a chance to redeem themselves....NOT.

The Republican party is no longer the conservative party. It is these boneheads in the Pub and Dem parties that brought all this gubbamint snooping, IRS targeting, NSA, NDAA, TSA, DHS, Patriot Act...and the rest.

I want to stop the erosion of our freedoms. Stop the snooping on innocent law abiding citizens. We are not subjects. Uncle Sugar doesn't lord over us.

We are a free people and we will fight to the last ounce of energy to keep it that way. Anyone with me?

It could work if the “moral conservatives”, the “fiscal conservatives”, and the “libertarians” can all get along. We need to send the socialist commies back to hell and retake our lives.

Individual responsibility implies individual authority, and vise versa; they are two faces of the same thing.

funny I posted on a different thread yesterday

First we have to oust the RINO paradigm if we want a quality candidate like Sarah

but let her form a new nationwide ‘tea party’ or whatever you want to call it and she will attract constitutional voters in droves, away from the RINO party.

I’m in...I’m sick of this party. As a third party we may not have the money and power of the RNC, but at least we’ll know that our party leaders believe in the same principles as us. And it will be a party we can truly get behind.

Given the reality that I know at least half a dozen people who would instantly abandon the Republican party to a mode ‘True Conservative’ party - I agree there is opportunity!

But here is the problem:

One of my friends view’s “True Conservatives” as taking a black/white stand on ending the drug-war. Another views “True” as defending “Traditional Marriage”, while another disagrees and demands that “Marriage” be completely and utterly eliminated from all Government Documents. (etc, etc)

And on the Small Government / Fiscal front...

I will not vote for anyone who is unwilling to end Foreign Aid, reduce our out-of-control Department-of-Offense / DHS which spends a Trillion+ dollars a year to ‘attempt’ to protect us from everyone we piss-off by getting into their business all the time!

But many of my friends (and yes, we get along) wouldn’t consider any party as even remotely “Conservative” if they didn’t Increase our alliance with Israel and strengthen our commitment to Military spending and “projection of power”...

So my question to Sara is “Which definition of ‘True Conservative’ is she talking about?

...she resigned as governor,...And she didn’t even try to run for president...

It's diffficult to get rid of dandelions in your yard when the guy across the street won't mow often enough and is exporting dandelion seeds to the whole neighborhood.

You seem like the guy across the street, always sowing the same anti-Palin seeds on FR. I wish you wouldn't.

If Ronald Reagan were posting on FR, many here would call him a “RINO”. Chasing a mirage seems to be more highly valued, than facing reality.

It always reminds me of the Reagan quote:

“Ronald Reagan on the importance of political compromise(in his own words)
An American Life (his autobiography) | 8/7/03 | Ronald Reagan

Posted on Thursday, August 07, 2003 2:05:04 PM by Diddle E. Squat

“When I began entering into the give and take of legislative bargaining in Sacramento, a lot of the most radical conservatives who had supported me during the election didn’t like it.

“Compromise” was a dirty word to them and they wouldn’t face the fact that we couldn’t get all of what we wanted today. They wanted all or nothing and they wanted it all at once. If you don’t get it all, some said, don’t take anything.

“I’d learned while negotiating union contracts that you seldom got everything you asked for. And I agreed with FDR, who said in 1933: ‘I have no expectations of making a hit every time I come to bat. What I seek is the highest possible batting average.’

“If you got seventy-five or eighty percent of what you were asking for, I say, you take it and fight for the rest later, and that’s what I told these radical conservatives who never got used to it.”
