The morning saw two of the State’s witnesses testify, Jane Sudyka and Jeanee Manaloo, both of whom were residents of Twin Lakes at the time of the incident and who appeared to testify as to their observations that night.

Anyone familiar with the backstory of Dee-Dee knows there is more than adequate fuel for real fireworks on cross-examination, but West handled her more or less with kid gloves. It is my sense, however, that he is preparing to bore in more aggressively tomorrow when he continues her cross. This seems particularly likely because at the point the Court recessed for the day Jeantel had begun to resist acknowledging prior sworn statements and West was preparing to spool up the audio recordings of those interviews to use in cross.
Despite the frequent difficulties in understand Jeantel’s responses, however, on one point she was abundantly clear–she was NOT happy to be in court. When she learned just before the Court recessed for the day that West anticipated cross-examining her for another two hours tomorrow, she burst out with an incredulous “WHAT!?!?!?” I’m pretty sure even people standing outside the courtroom heard that exclamation.

There has been much speculation of that over the past six months or so — that “DeeDee” is at best a de facto actress and not the person who did the interviews earlier.
In the time it would take for her to read three pages I could teach all six of my dog to do yoyo tricks while spinning a hula hoop.
I was surprised the Judge didn’t admonish her for that outburst. The Judge seems to be favoring the prosecution so far.

They have to pick their battles. Re what TV she watches, I think he asked if she saw the ABC interview only as part of officially starting the ball rolling against Crump, who it would appear lied to her by not mentioning that ABC was there.
I wrote the other day that to fully deal with all her lies, they would be there through July 4th. It sounds like it will be just “a couple more hours” tomorrow.
No doubt Uncle Chip, and for THIS alone that slimy crump should be disbarred and charges brought upon him, taking extreme advantage of this girl, it’s sickening. All for the intention of exploiting this unfortunate incident and to make MONEY. What an awful bunch they all are, I know they have zero shame, but my God, what they were allowed to do to this uneducated ghetto girl, it’s utterly disgusting.
If I am reading other threads correctly, she is sequestered in a hotel with no TV, radio, internet, phone, or booze. That last one might be the toughest on her, plus I’d bet that she doesn’t have a habit of rolling out of bed to be somewhere by 8:30 AM. She might be as irritable as a hornet’s nest or she might be driven into the courtroom snoozing in the back seat of one of Wal-Mart’s carts — either way yeah I think you’re right that West is going to have his hands full getting anything useful out of her. But that might be just fine with him.

West is playing her. She’s being arrogant and disrespectful, he’s being overly polite - it makes her seem even more so.
And he, oh so gently, had her agree that she wasn’t careful or cared to be accurate in what she testified to in the past.

Perry Mason was from an era in America where a case like this in which the original investigators recommended no billing would have never gone to trial.
Back in those days O.J. would have fried, we never would have heard of the Duke Lacrosse team and
Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean would have received medals and promotions.

To anyone who watched her yesterday Jeantel comes across as a deeply emotionally and psychologically and mentally disturbed child and the prosecution and the Scheme Team should be ashamed for having exploited her as they have and using her as their star witness to try to put a man in prison for life.
