Mexico broke its silence on the United States immigration reform debate this week, declaring that “walls aren’t the solution.”

US lawmakers are considering extending the border fence as part of the added security measures that would accompany plans to provide legal status to more than 11 million immigrants, the majority of them Mexican.

Good chance for Rubio and Flake to say they are withdrawing their support for this bill because Mexico is objecting to a key provision. . . . if they had any common sense.

Exactly right. Billing the Mexican government for each one of their freeloaders they send here is the solution. Not allowing Mexican Nationals in this country to send our money “back home” to Mexico is another solution.

If they say they aren’t the solution then they are. Along with armed drones patrolling the border.

They’re right.

Explosives are the solution.

Shove it, Mexico...and you might try actually doing something for your people rather than forcing them out of their own country.

Walls aren’t the solution. Criminalizing illegal immigration is.

I agree. We also need minefields, guard towers, mounted guns, German Shepards, attack helicopters, and really rude baristas from Starbuck’s to deter illegal immigrants at the border.

I think we should just copy Mexico’s immigration laws and tell them to sit the F down, shut the F up and have a taco.

I say adopt the immigration laws that the Mexicans enforce on their southern border. Very onerous....but they expect ours are supposed to be more “human”. I guess they’re addicted to all that money flowing back down there.

Let’s simply duplicate Mexican southern border policy.

Good point. Their southern border is sealed and illegals entering Mexico from farther south are treated for what they are. Criminals. But that’s not for Mexicans entering the USA.

Walls were certainly the solution for the Chinese against the Mongols (Great Wall of China) and for the Dutch against the Indians (Wall Street) and for the Israelis against the Palestinians (Sharon’s Wall) and the recent fence along the Golan Heights, and Fort Knox, and the White House, and the Kennedy Compound.

I am very unsuccessful when attempting to walk from one room to another without using the door, because a physical barrier is in my way.

Walls are a solution.

I don’t care what Mehico thinks. I take issue with our own people. Not just 10 minutes ago I was talking to a co-worker who said we are all immigrants and she does not begrudge someone coming here to be better. When I told her the problem is they don’t want to be better in an American sense just get freebies and if you give them amnesty you spit in the face of every legal immigrant that came before them. She answered (with a blank face) it is not our place to deny them a chance to be better, we all came from somewhere else. These moronic people answer in circular logic so they cannot be taught.

See the problem? Some of our own people don’t get it.

Flash back 2010...Mexico, which often criticizes the American government for putting up barriers which restrict the flow of illegal immigrants across the U.S. - Mexico border is building a fence of its own along its southern border with Guatemala.

It has been reported that the head of the Mexican Superintendency of Tax Administration, Raul Diaz, confirmed that the Mexican government is building a wall along the Mexican - Guatemalan border. Diaz stated the official reason for building the border wall is to stop illegal drugs from coming into Mexico, but Diaz did admit that it could also prevent the free passage of illegal immigrants.

The hypocrisy of Mexico’s actions has not been lost on American politicians. Last week, Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX) said on the house floor:

Mr. POE of Texas. Mr. Speaker, in spite of objections to the contrary, a fence is still being built along the southern border. Illegals objected to this but the President is resilient. He is standing firm on his commitment to build the fence to keep illegals out.

You see, over 500,000 illegals cross the border every year into Mexico, and the fence is being built at the southern end of Mexico to keep people like Guatemalans out. It’s the Mexican southern border that they’re protecting.

You know, Calderon demands that the United States not build a fence. He arrogantly demands the Arizona law not be enforced, but when Mexico has problems with illegals coming to “take jobs that Mexicans won’t do,” Calderon says he’s building a fence on his southern border, whether illegals like it or not.

Every country has the right to defend its border. We should stop listening to anything President Calderon says and do what’s right for our country.

Anti-illegal immigration, pro-American worker leaders also had something to say regarding the Mexico-Guatemala Fence: “While the hypocrisy of the Mexican government is offensive,” said NumbersUSA President Roy Beck, “Americans can cheer the Mexican fence which should greatly reduce the number of non-Mexicans illegally crossing the U.S. southern border.”

A thick, high, impenetrable heavily armed wall (armed on *both* sides) will greatly benefit both nations. We benefit from preventing the entry of semi literate Mexican,Guatemalan,Salvadoran (etc) parasites...and preventing drugs from entering.Mexico benefits from preventing illegal guns (illegal under Mexican law) and illegal money from entering Mexico.
