Twenty-three Boy Scouts were hospitalized after a lightning strike in New Hampshire on Monday night, a fire chief said.
Chief David Parenti, of Belmont Fire Station, said the Scouts, aged from 12 to 16, were at the Griswold Scout Reservation in Belmont when the incident happened.
Parenti told NBC station WHDH that many of the injuries were minor burns. He said six scouts were given cardiac monitors because the burns were in the chest area.
However, he said this was done mostly as a precaution.

Lightning hits trees in the forest
Scouts go camping in the forest
Tornados happen too
When I take groups of kids camping I always check out the emergency shelter plans or make my own
This group was very lucky

We live in a fallen world thanks to Adam. None can escape the misery of this life on earth and we all suffer death as a result: "For as in Adam all die."
Exodus 20: 5-6 ...for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.

“I think the idea that God would target kids for electrocution because of stances taken by the Grand High Poobahs of their organization, which the boys were not responsible for, nor even remotely able to prevent -— is idiotic.”

I suppose I should post the quote about not judging others. But you know it and have chosen to ignore it.
Disgusting that you would judge children in such a manner.

So you have some reason to think the parents of these children were gay?
Or perhaps you’re forgetting the whole Jesus Son of God thing.

You asked if GOD punished innocents. I am NOT judging the children. I quoted a Bible verse that is a warning to the wicked that their offspring may feel the ramifications of their wickedness. I basically said that NONE of us is innocent. There is NO SUCH THING! We are all guilty and deserve death. Is this lightning strike retribution for the votes of some adults somewhere? I would say it was bad weather striking a scout camp and nothing more.
When I saw this article, I thought nothing of the vote about homosexuals, I just wondered about how the scouts were doing and if they would get any special badge for going through something like this. Others were the ones who brought up the idea of God's judgment being met upon them.

I seem to recall several years ago several Scouts were killed when their campsite got caught in a flash flood....can you blame that on the gay vote?

Do you think that is what I said? If so, why?

When something bad happens so many people rush to say “well it must be God” or “they must have sinned”. When challenged they say just what you said.
We all deserve death but Jesus died for our sins.

The only thing I could blame it on is that we live in a fallen world. God’s plan was that we should live forever. Adam sinned, we die. You did not read my post.

The OT has instances both of children receiving punishments because of their fathers' iniquity (Exodus 20:5, Deuteronomy 5:9, Exodus 34:6-7) and of God rejecting the punishment of children or indeed of anybody but the guilty party himself (Deuteronomy 24:16, Ezekiel 18:20).
We should make a dictinction between God's permissive will (in that he permits, but does not positively will, the evil natural and logical consequences of our sins) and God's positive or direct will (God always wills the good, as Jesus said, "He makes the sun to shine on the good and the bad, and makes His rain to fall on both the just and the unjust. Be ye therefore perfect...")
When the Apostles wanted Jesus to call down fire from heaven on the unbelieving Samaritan towns, Jesus flatly "rebuked them, and said, 'Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.' " (Luke 9:55)
Lightning-strikes against children by an angry Thor --- man, that's not my religion and that's not my God.

Wow. What an idiotic post.
In 2008, four Boy Scouts were killed by a tornado at a camp in Iowa. This was before the decision to admit homosexuals. But now several scouts are injured (not killed) by lightning and it’s suddenly God’s judgment.
Got it.
