I was doing "telematics" work in 2003. Just a few keystrokes on my phone and the demo car in the parking lot executed a remote start. My customers were astonished. I'm all too aware of what can be done remotely to a vehicle bus. The nice folks at Wingcast kept me busy writing auto simulators for five models of Ford and 2 Infiniti cars that were just on the drawing board. I had to create hardware simulator/tester devices for the "OnStar" style telematics control unit. There is much room for mischief if you are so inclined.
