Men's Wearhouse executive chairman George Zimmer has been "terminated," the clothing retailer said on Wednesday.
Zimmer opened the company's first store in Houston in 1973. He's been the bearded face of Men's Wearhouse (MW) in television ads for years, famously promising men "You're going to like the way you look. I guarantee it."

I wonder why they put the word terminated in quotes.

Wow, finally a store that has left my “Boycott” list and I feel morally okay to shop at. Woohoo!

I watched him play for The Dodgers when I was akid.

Interesting. Mark Steyn also mentioned at that time that he had patronized MW in times of emergency, but no more.

He always sounded to me like he had a smoker’s voice, one that went through three packs unfiltered Camels a day.

I can't say I shopped at MW because of the guy, but I will say that I've generally been pleased with their store and offerings. The suits are well-made and reasonably-priced; their dress shirts last a long time, and they have a good selection of accessories for the business man.
They've started to offer more business casual items, including high-end designer jeans and shirts. I'm not crazy about paying a hundred dollars for jeans, so I go elsewhere.

Thanks for the info. I wasn’t aware that he was an obama worshiper, but in that he has a lot of company.

There’s a Jos. A. Bank up the road here, but I have never ever seen more than two cars in their parking lot. I can’t understand their business model.

Seriously? Didn't they trash one of his stores someplace? LOL! Yep. Smashed windows that had the signs "We Support OWS!" in them. I laughed then, and I'm laughing now.

Isn’t “Men’s Wearhouse” the chain that will gladly alter your suit to best accommodate your preferred method of concealed carry? Or is that just a local thing?

I watched him play for The Dodgers when I was akid.I remember him being one of those guys you always ended up having multiple baseball cards of and were unable to trade because everyone else had multiple cards too. Tony Taylor was another.
