A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago.
However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down.
Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded and crashed off the coast of nearby East Moriches, Long Island, killing everyone on the plane.
“..This team of investigators who actually handled the wreckage and victims’ bodies, prove that the officially proposed fuel-air explosion did not cause the crash,” reads a statement by the producers of the film, which will debut on cable network EPIX next month. “They also provide radar and forensic evidence proving that one or more ordinance explosions outside the aircraft caused the crash.” However, the statement said they did not speculate about the source or sources of any ordinance explosions.

The non-story a few weeks ago - that the terrorists have missiles capable of bringing down a plane - should be no shock to anyone. They’ve had them at least since TWA 800 was shot down.

Yep, and since no one in the US acknowledged that and gave them or anyone else credit, but rather the Clinton crime family came up with a cover story to save Clinton's re-election, they then gave US the WTC attacks that culminated with 9/11.
Flt 800's somewhat similar to Benghazi before obama's re-election, but Benghazi was off shore and directed at whatever obama's getting US blamed for in Libya, Syria, etc.
Now that obama has been re-presidented, anywhere in the US is fair game and any sort of attack now. They got away with Benghazi, just like they got away with Flt. 800, does the last pattern repeat just like with Clinton?
OKC was serious, but that was just basic chemistry, same with the first WTC attack. Now that obama's probably not running again, I worry that there are no limits any more.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but we do live in a world awash in all sorts of bad stuff that got away from the Soviets, from Saddam, from Libya, etc. and was never recovered and we have an absolutely transparent border.
So comforting to reflect on all the ways that obama, Hillary and now honest John Kerry have been smoothing things with our friends and enemies around the world since 2008.
A shoulder fired SAM can't bring down a 747 the way TWA-800 blew up.

1. Do we have explosives chemical residue from any of the wreckage consistent with a bomb going off? Both C4 and Semtex plastique explosives leave behind a distinctive chemical residue after the explosion.
2. Do we have any warhead fragmentation pattern consistent with the explosion of the warhead from a MANPAD portable surface-to-air missile?
If these clues are not found, that rules out an act of terrorism in the loss of Flight 800.
When I read Nightfall, I was stunned by the ending. It’s a great book, & I re-read it several times over the years.
Yes it was. It made my head hurt. I read the threads and didn't dare offer an opinion. How the hell would I know what the truth was? The Navy shot it down accidentally, or it was a MANPADS system fired from a fishing boat by Arabs -- this was all pre-9/11 -- and the confusion and deception and creepy websites all had their own theories and motives. Impossible to follow, but I couldn't turn away.
One thing that's different now than from back in the time of TWA Flight 800 is that whatever these whistleblowers claim will be regarded as the absolute truth, and in fact probably IS the truth.
I haven't felt as disgusted and fearful of my own nation as I have in just these last few months. Hey whistleblowers in government, whereever you are! Might as well just come out with everything you know about everything and anybody! There's no better time than the present.
Yes, there was residue found in the wreckage. The ‘official story’ at the time was that flight 800 just so HAPPENED to have been used to train bomb sniffing dogs just prior to the flight.

I actually had a coworker who lived right under the flight path for that plane. Just so happened to be walking his dog and glanced up at a flash of light as it flew over. He said it looked like a flash of a small explosion and then the tail fell off.
Who to trust. Guy I’d known nearly a decade and hadn’t seemed wonky or off any of those years. Someone with lots of real life experience including past tour in the military.
Or, the official story. Less than 30m after the plane crashed they were announcing it wasn’t terrorism related...
