Rush Limbaugh snapped at former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush for calling Republicans too reactionary, saying the party lost in 2012 because it is considered wishy-washy.
Jeb Bush said that too many Republicans are reactionary, the conservative radio host said on his program Friday, according to a show transcript. Its a code word used by people who arent conservative to taint us as extremists.
-snip-
So Jeb Bush, who we really like here, said at the Faith and Freedom Coalition today that he wasnt gonna be critical of the Obama administration. That really worked out for Romney, didnt it? Limbaugh responded.

McCain is the one who helped elect The Messiah - not George W. Bush. And the moral decline of the American people did not help either.
I don’t hate them - or anyone. I believe GW is a good man, but blind to the principles of our nation in the beginnning and how he damaged them.
Jeb however, is another McCain/Romney/Dole. He is pure politician. He seems to lack the character that his brother has.
And if the GOP is stupid enough to nominate him, we are indeed past recovery.
Without a “reset” that would be traumatic.......
I didn’t say “them”, I said “him”. Jeb.
I agree. George H W Bush never really did like Reagan. Bush saw himself as one of the elite, and to him, Reagan was just a rube.
I think the party started moving away from conservatism sometime around the late ninties. The 1994 election was the last hurrah for conservatives in the GOP.
The political demise of the Bush clan will be the only silver lining to the dark cloud of a future Hillary presidency.
The need to stop RINOS before they get going is urgent.
The RNC was as interested in stopping the Tea Party as the left.
9/11 increased Republican congressional seats, and also provided cover for W's liberal, big-spending programs of his first term.
After the unity and patriotism of 9/11 waned, we got the real W/Rove effect in 2006 and 2008, which were two consecutive catastrophes.
All either Bush did was ride in on the political capital and influence earned by others (Reagan, Gingrich, etc.), and then fritter it away with their Democrat-lite, big spending approach to government.
You captured it. Only thing I would add is the intentional squandering of the Tea Party/Conservative resurgence in 2010.
Yep, Bush won’t say anything bad about the democrats, but Romney couldn’t say anything bad about the democrats either.....and McCain refused to say anything bad about his opponent either. Wimps never win and it looks like Jeb inherited his father’s wimp factor.
You are correct. The MSM has their very usable mc cain to promote the 'it's bushes fault' during Bush's admin. It was so obvious, yet mc cain relished in being used by enemy for their purpose. He was rewarded with letting him run - he bowed to BHO yet couldn't stop kicking Bush whenever he got the chance. Is there something in the Arizona water that makes them dull and they can't see the obvious? He showed his rabid side some more during the primary with the conservative opponent for his seat. He truly is the enemy within.
Bush 1 abandoned the Reagan legacy and became a one term proposition for it. The Rockefeller wing of the GOP never understood Reagan and never bought into Reagan’s principles.
Jeb Bush is probably the best politician of the three - but he is a middle of the road type guy. Florida is a different animal - GOP Governor’s there - Crist/Bush - made a political living riding the fence because that is what gets you elected in Florida - not firebrand conservatism. That is why the Rockefeller GOP likes GOP Governors from Florida so much - the demographics favor them.
They are blind to the fact that it won’t translate to the conservative base in the rest of the country. As popular as Rubio was prior to the shamnesty debacle, I would argue Rubio would have had a better shot at being elected President than Governor of Florida.
I hate saying it, but this reality carries huge ramifications for the GOP nationally moving forward. Florida is gradually shifting towards becoming a reliable pickup for the rats in Presidential elections and when that happens, regardless of adding millions of reliable rat voters thanks to Rubio and gang, the GOP is done in the White House statistically - can’t get there without Florida.
Yep, the Bushes were less involved in 2010, but once again the GOPe, Beltway crowd has squandered the victories won by more conservative activists, this time the Tea Party in 2010, and set the party back once again.
They are all a bunch of squatters and wastrels who do nothing but fritter away the victories won by others. And now Boner and McConnel and others (Rove still hanging around) are continuing the 'work' of GHWB, W and Rove, etc.
I believe the husband and boys, listened to mama Barbara. They got their hatred of Reagan/conservatism through her. She hates them so - the impulsive woman couldn’t shut her mouth and made a comment about Sarah which showed her contempt. It was very wrong of her to say with contempt - Sarah should stay in Alaska. The old hag Barbara has many character flaws. IMO, she lost her ‘first lady’ appeal and even as a mother she sounded like not a good role model. Glad I didn’t grow up in that household.
“They are mining for liberal voters even now, and more than ever.”
Which is why the eGOP lost the last election and will lose even more going forward.
“I believe GW is a good man”
There is one thing we can say of GW: He loved this country and never meant it any harm. He did harm with TARP and PATRIOT, but that wasn’t his intention.
