Shortly after the news broke that the Department of Justice had been secretly monitoring the phones and email accounts of Associated Press and Fox News reporters (and the parents of Fox News Correspondent James Rosen), CBS News' Sharyl Attkisson said her computer seemed like it had been compromised. Turns out, it was:
"A cyber security firm hired by CBS News has determined through forensic analysis that Sharyl Attkissons computer was accessed by an unauthorized, external, unknown party on multiple occasions late in 2012. Evidence suggests this party performed all access remotely using Attkissons accounts. While no malicious code was found, forensic analysis revealed an intruder had executed commands that appeared to involve search and exfiltration of data.Attkisson has lead the way in exposing and covering Operation Fast and Furious, Solyndra and Benghazi.
This party also used sophisticated methods to remove all possible indications of unauthorized activity, and alter system times to cause further confusion.
CBS News is taking steps to identify the responsible party and their method of access.
She said in an interview Friday that she was outraged by the breach, which did not appear to be aimed at extracting personal financial information.
This wasnt any ordinary malware of a phishing attempt, that is, an effort to gain personal information, she said. I assume someone wanted to see what I was working on.
The privacy and security of every American citizen in his own home, not to mention the work of a journalist, is sacrosanct. The idea that an unknown party could come into your home electronically is upsetting and disturbing. .?.?. People should be disturbed that a reporter would be spied on and intimidated this way. I do feel that this was an attempt to make me feel intimidated.
That “Unknown party” is led by Eric Holder, and the entire Justice Department. Welcome to Nazi Amerika
One guess.
I’m surprised that they’re even surprised by this revelation. As I just said in another post, one does not go against the Family.
Firewalls....are all provided by commercial companies...who give their backdoor option over to NSA, in exchange for something (maybe tax credits, maybe information on competition, etc). The fed’s can walk into anyone’s computer....browse, and note anything. This is why having your phone, ISP, and financial data are all important. Unless you disconnect your computer from the provider, that’s about the only way to achieve real security.
States need to identify the federal fascists, indict them for civil rights violations and send SWAT teams to arrest them at their homes.
Well I guess it’s time to be outraged now that a obama reporter has been hacked!
The NSA is an example of the NAZI mindset and bureaucracy.
The legislators, in ‘crafting’ their laws garner the input and requirements of experts, many of them from the very FedGov groups they oversee. Additionally, the Courts have held that those same ‘expert’ bureaucrats should be given ‘latitude’ in determining just how far to implement the self-crafted rules of implementation.
As a result, the courts consider it a legislative prerogative to give the creation of the implementing rules to the bureaucrats and will rarely intercede. Meanwhile the legislators claim that it is the executive branch that is responsible for the overreach.
CWII approaches.
Headline should read:
“NSA hacked CBS reporter’s computer”
Then, let the WH come out and whine and scream, “There’s no proof!”.
We're going to have some problems here.
Cue Gomer Pyle...
Intimidation? Yes. This is what you get for crossing the Big People, the Proprietor Class, Miss Atkisson.
Fifty-fifty whether it's a spook/goon/gargoyle at CIA, NSA, FBI, or the White House Staff; or just a l33t haX0R and Ankle-Biter from Rahm's RatRoots gang.
Be interesting to see what The Register has to say about this, a week or two from now.
It's not a scandal if we don't report it.
And we won't.

But wait. NSA says they are not reading individual emails or actually listening in on your phone calls or hacking your computer. Its just a generalized data mining operation. They don’t really look at the data. They would’nt do that of course. Certainly not without a warrant. Would they? :-)
and nothing will happen. They will get her fired or something and the MSM will drop it fast- if they even mention it.
Unknown party... did they change the name of the NSA?
