we both agree far more than we disagree, likely 95%+...

Probably about the same percentage for me. My one sticky spot is Palin. I don’t trust her, because of what she said about McCain, when she came here to boost him.  Arizona Republic: Palin....” John McCain IS the Tea Party!  The very next day....”  Arizona Republic:....” John McCain is the REAL conservative”  These are verbatim quotes from this Phoenix, AZ newspaper.  No sale. Lost integrity. I don’t trust her.  As for illegals, I’m with Doughty One. She keeps saying that she is for AZ, then reverts back to “ IMMIGRATION REFORM” You can’t have it both ways. OK, back to agreeing 95% again : )

LakeShark, you and I may agree on 95% of our beliefs, but I will admit to finding that hard to believe.  I don't like to carry on discussions across threads, but there are exceptions, and I think this is a case where it is called for.  I also try to let bygones be bygones too, but here again, I am pressed to recall some things that have taken place here for years.

I have bumped into you on thread after thread over the years, disagreeing with you time and again.  I'm not trying to be mean here.  I'm just not able to agree with your descriptor that you agree with JohnStephenBanker on 95% of the issues.  Being charitable, maybe you do.  Maybe I only bump into you on certain topics, and don't realize that our disagreements are limited to far fewer topics than I realize.  And being charitable again, I'm not perfect, so perhaps it is me who is wrong part of the time.  None the less, the impression I come away with is that you don't agree with StephenJohnBanker even 50% of the time.  Again, perhaps you do.  Perhaps you agree with him a lot more than I realize.

What bothers me on this thread is that statements are made, people provide video of the person in question making statements, they quote her statements, and it doesn't really affect your view.  You tell me that you and I agree on immigration, but when the candidate herself reveals that she doesn't, you diplay a mindset that reveals you're still a staunch supporter?  Why would you support someone who disagrees with you?  Well, you wouldn't.  Nobody would.  The sad truth is, you don't agree with me on immigration.  You merely say you do.

As I said in another post, I am inclined to like everyone.  It's when I'm gamed, not dealt with truthfully, that I lose the ability to be the friend of someone.

Why do you presist in acting this way?  Why do you make comments in posts that are stricken down by other comments you make in the same post?  It's unsettling to watch.

I don't dislike you, but you really aren't exactly what you pass yourself off as being.  That's not the act of someone who wants to be respected by others.

SJB and myself have come to understand each other fairly well. We declared a flame truce well over a year ago, along with the poster mkjessup (almost two years?).

Since then, I know longer have to call it a truce, rather, I find we agree with each other well over 90% of the time, I think he will say the same.

I believe we (D1 and myself) haven't crossed swords since just prior to the reelection of Bambi, and prior to that neither of us were particularly kind to each other (understatement), much like the enmity between SJB Jessup and myself.

I use the 95% figure, I believe it to be true of SJB Jessup and myself, and it appears to be true of D1 and myself as well.

I think most of the 5% is over my support of, and your lack of support for Sarah Palin.
