Most of them (12 - 20M+) are already on welfare. This will just insure they get to keep it, along with the free healthcare, education, housing assistance, etc.

Rand and the Pubbies are wrong on this. This will NOT gain R votes, just add to the Dim votes...and provide a permanent Dim lock on most, if not all, elections.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, as far as* evening the playing field* and *0's redistribution*, IMO.

I agree that Rand is wrong, and many of the establishment are wrong, and that it will NOT gain votes. However, I doubt most are on welfare and I would never support any reform bill that didn’t address them being on welfare in the first place.

Senator Paul seems determined to bring on additional Democrat voters. Even assuming the government's numbers are correct at 12 million illegals, that would mean that, assuming even a 33% voter participation rate, you would be adding 4 million voters, who would vote at least 4:1 Democrat. Those numbers could well push Arizona out of the marginally Republican camp, and move Florida into a marginally Democrat position on a statewide basis. It would move Texas, the last big state still solidly Republican, into a marginally Republican status. In the 2006 election cycle, the GOP held onto the state House by a mere few dozen votes in Irving, a Dallas suburb.

Other than Cubans in recent times and German, Dutch, and British Protestants in the 19th and early 20th Centuries, most immigrant groups have voted Democrat. Even legal immigrants and their children who prosper, such as Northeast Asians, vote Democrat even though the GOP is friendlier to professionals and entrepreneurs. The Republican leadership is delusional in supporting amnesty for illegals.
