Dennis Kucinich caved and supported Obamacare after a ride in Air Force 1, even though he read the thing and knew it was awful. When Ohio's stupid Republicans redistricted the state, they made one Cleveland district instead of two, and stupidly threw it to the black neighborhoods with their finageling. Obama did nothing to save Kucinich, or give him a job.

Why do I say stupid? If not, it's a deal with Obama about whom to save. A district that Kucinich could've won could easily be competitive for 'pubs in the future.

What's my point? Caucasian democrats should be very afraid. If very stupid or very lazy (or both) Susan Rice can be promoted and competent dems (even if we don't agree with them politically) are thrown under the bus, they just better assume that Obama isn't going to have 'his people" take the fall.

Kucinich was a holdout because the bill wasn't awful enough for him. IIRC he had an amendment related to single payer that he wanted before he'd vote yes on the bill. Obama supposedly reassured him on AF1 that the language Bernie Sandlers already got into the bill was similar to the amendment Kucinich wanted, except that single payer wouldn't be on the table until after 2017. Therefore Kucinich was going to get what he wanted, just not as soon as he wanted it.

Obama did nothing to save Kucinich, or give him a job.
