It's too soon to tell, but Samsung might have finally beaten Apple to become the United State's top smartphone maker, at least for now. A new report by the investment research firm Canaccord Genuity shows that Samsung beat Apple in US sales in May. In particular, Canaccord found the Galaxy S 4, Galaxy Note II and Galaxy S III sold more units combined than Apple's iPhone.
It's important to be aware of the methodology Canaccord used to develop their findings. The study surveyed only the retail stores of carriers AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless. Apple Stores were not surveyed. At Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint stores the Galaxy S 4 was the top-seller for the month of May. The iPhone 5 only beat the Galaxy S 4 at AT&T stores.
According to Canaccord analyst T. Michael Walkley:
"While we believe Samsung and Apple maintained dominant share of the US smartphone market versus sub-scale Android OEMs and struggling Windows Phone and BlackBerry ecosystems, we believe Samsung on the strength of strong Galaxy S 4, S III and Note II sales surpassed Apple to gain top share of the US smartphone market for the first time since the iPhone 5 launch,"

If Apple is giving our info. to Obama then perhaps Samsung is better. Samsung is a foreign corporation so they can't donate to the Democrat Party.

I like the IPHONE 5.
One problem with those MS based phones I read is that it is easy to get viruses on them, much like PCs wo special protection.
In contrast on IPHONE all apps come through the app store, unless you jailbreak.

Nonetheless, it looks like Apple still lets Obama and his goons get access to your apps.

Wow... imagine if Ford sales at Ford dealerships weren’t included in sales comparisons regarding car manufacturers?
Could that effect the numbers somehow?
Epic FUD.

If I don’t want my IPHONE 5 to be doing stuff when I am not using it I turn it to airplane mode, mainly to save the battery.
I found a free app called battery doctor that allows me to turn off any application I want.

This is a silly article since it leaves out Apple store sales.
Frankly, as a former Droid person and proud of it at the time, I much prefer my iPhone. Just jailbreak it to get most of the Droid freedom.
At least it doesn’t crash every second like my Droid did.

I highly recommend free WAZE navigation with real time road, traffic, police, hazard alerts. Its the most fun toy on the phone.
Who wants a smartphone full of Chinese and Russian virus's? I got enough to do keeping my PCs secure.

You iPhone people are too funny. You have a phone that does not do nearly as much as a Samsung and what it does the same it does not do nearly as well but you still love your iPhone.
I get a big chuckle every time I sit next to someone with an iPhone and show them just a couple features on my phone that they don’t have. They actually say, “Really, it does that.”

I own an iPhone 5 and a Galaxy S4. Prior to that I owned the iPhone 4S and the Galaxy S3 (all of them but the S4 from my workplace, and the S4 was a gift). In terms of comparisons, it is not surprising that Samsung is beating Apple in the smart phone category hands down. In my experience, The Galaxy S3 was better than the 4S in every single metric imaginable. It took the iPhone 5 to finally surpass the 4S, but, unfortunately for Apple, Samsung came out with the S4 soon after. Let me put it another way ...if someone likes their iPhone 5 just do not try out the S4. It will take a lot of the dazzle away from the 5.
Anyways, the sales numbers are not surprising at all. Also, as an aside, I think Apple may need to find a way of resurrecting Jobs.

Nonetheless, it looks like Apple still lets Obama and his goons get access to your apps. Apple says it's not true. In fact the NSA recently complained they couldn't access Apple's encryption on Encrypted iPhones. . . and wanted the key.

Perhaps you don't know what you are talking about. . . I find woeful ignorance among Android users of what iOS devices can really do and what they can't. Most Android users just parrot FUD they've heard and old out dated information.

Thankfully the Galaxy S 4, Galaxy Note II and Galaxy S III aren’t MS based phones.

"An Apple spokesperson gave this statement to AllThingsD: We have never heard of PRISM. We do not provide any government agency with direct access to our servers, and any government agency requesting customer data must get a court order.

I learned real quick after I got my Samsung Exhibit 4 (the most basic of the 4s) from iPhone owners how much more my Samsung could do compared to iPhones....especially media apps.
