Tea party witness chokes up: 'I'm not begging my lords for mercy. I'm a born free American woman'

A tea party witness from Alabama launched into emotional testimony Tuesday as she described her group’s political abuse at the hands of the Internal Revenue Service.

“We peacefully assemble. We petition our government. We exercise the right to free speech. And we don’t understand why the government tried to stop us,” Wetumpka Tea Party President Becky Gerritson said during her opening statement before the House Ways and Means Committee.

“I’m not here at as a serf or a vassal,” she went on, beginning to choke up. “I’m not begging my lords for mercy. I’m a born-free American woman, wife, mother and citizen.”

It’s time for men to step forward, identify the IRS nazis in their neighborhoods and read them the Constitutional riot act in a dark parking lot with no witnesses around.

I hear ya. I got to talking current events and politics with a customer yesterday, and before you know it, a whole hour had passed. We both had so much to vent, we could have gone on all day. That's how much unexpressed resentment Obama has caused.

If we are going to wait on a leader we will continue on the side lines. If a leader hasn’t shown up by now I don’t think they’re coming at all. Somebody on this very website can get the ball rolling if they decide to. There are some very able, intelligent people here. One of US can be a leader. (Not me, I’m more follower material) but a ready and willing one. We need a million-man/woman march!
