Brokaw: 'It’s Tough to See How' Holder Keeps His Job (Wanna bet Obama's gonna keep him?)

The ice seems to be cracking beneath Attorney General Eric Holder's feet.

When asked by NBC Meet the Press host David Gregory Sunday if Holder is going to "stay in the job" given the leaks investigation scandal, former NBC Night News host Tom Brokaw replied, "Boy, I think it’s tough to see how he does" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Brokaw: 'It’s Tough to See How' Holder Keeps His Job

TOM BROKAW, FORMER NBC NIGHTLY NEWS ANCHOR: I talked over the weekend to a very, very senior ex-intelligence official from United States government, and he laughed. He said, "Look, this administration and all prior administrations have used classified material when it’s been to their political advantage." And he was astonished by the way that Eric Holder, the chief legal officer of the United States, has recused himself in the Associated Press case. So we still have a way to go here, David.

DAVID GREGORY, HOST: Do you think-- you’ve seen these kinds of investigations before meaning the Judiciary Investigation Committee, investigation of the Attorney General, this could be elongated. You have this morning on The New York Times government officials talking off the record or on background about his effectiveness. Does he stay in the job?

BROKAW: Boy, I think it’s tough to see how he does at this case, but it’s up to the president. That-- what we’re seeing in The New York Times today is that familiar Washington two-step. Officially, getting the endorsement of people like David Axelrod and-- and the spokesman for the president, but at the same time, there’s another part of that two-step that is going on which people are saying it would be better if he left. It would be better for the president to get this cleaned up.

He has become obviously the lightning rod for a lot of the criticism just on this panel and certainly in Republican circles. From a political point of view, one of the ways that you can measure the impact of all of this and the fairness of it is think if this had happened in the Bush administration with John Ashcroft as the Attorney General. You know full well that the Democrats and the left would be going very hard after them with these issues that are in play.

To be sure, Brokaw is no Walter Cronkite, but if Holder has lost him, the Attorney General's in a heap of trouble.

Also interesting was Brokaw's final comment concerning how the left would be reacting if the players in this scandal were named Ashcroft and Bush.

Indeed, it would be far different particularly in the media.

Why might that be?

Whenever the Dems get caught red-handed, it's always the "everyone does it" excuse, making it somehow unfair to single them out and be personally accountable.

Obozo won’t can the incompetent, bumbling Holder.

Holder will soon hold the obligatory press conference and say, “I am resigning because the Republicans have decided to make me the target and focal point of stopping this great president’s plans for improving the middle class...and the children...and, and, the lives of women, and, and the working class.”

All the media and democrats are lying when they say withHOLDER recused himself. Justice failed to meet the deadline explaining how he recused himself. Next time anyone says that he did, the response needs to be, “There is absolutely no proof he recused himself. That the justice department is withholding any information relating to the recusal.”

The Corruptocrats are as single-minded as jihadi Muslims about lying to achieve their goal of a socialist country. They will do anything to get Hillary into the White House. The wusses in the GOP better be ready to put on their big boy pants, if they have them, and expect some really dirty tricks for those running in 2014.

The House should lay out the case for perjury then refer to case to the appropriate bar associations for review and possible revocation of license. Hit the weasel where it really hurts.

Holder is a black commie. He is black. He may look a little white, but he is black, and black, especially black politicians, are excused.

Baraq can’t fire holder. It would prove that his white-half is racist.

Holder is not going to be punished. He enjoys protective pigmentation. The worst that happens is he goes to Chicago with a high paying job and resurfaces in 3 years to continue harassing productive people and non-minorities.

BINGO!! If you aren’t a lawyer, you ought to be. Holder’s not going to prosecute himself or appoint a special counsel who’ll do anything but whitewash what’s happened. That leaves congressional hearings and bar ethics proceedings for perjury and obstruction of justice as the ways to go. Remember, disbarment proceedings, nothing else, were what really got to Clinton.

Brokaw is just another tool for Obie. He's the same person who doesn't see what the big deal is with these scandals when you compare it will real abuses like abu ghraib.

You gotta be kidding me. Crawl back under your rock Tom.

I’m getting the impression that the Obama media wants to pin the blame on the DOJ scandals on Holder and make him the scapegoat. They really don’t think Obama is guilty of anything.

What the Obama press doesn’t realize is that Holder is Obama’s Luca Brasi. Holder would have been gone along time ago if he did anything without the approval of the White House.

There is precedent for it. Lennin and Stalin both kept Beria on from the Czar’s government. Eric the Corrupt is the same as Beria and uses the same type of information to stay in power. If Holder goes, the whole house will topple with him.
