Transformers exploding. The bigger the flash the bigger the transformer. Even the little cans you seen on poles give a nice flash. I'm guessing some of the bigger flashes are substations.
WOW FNC just show whole ares of power lights going out...I think anyone else just see that...
And it’s just too damned dark for ‘em to see anything other than the flashes .. now saying circulation heading for Norman area . . . siren’s going off in north OKC . . . major power outage around OU area “half the city just went dark”
Half the city went dark....large flash...high speed winds....
Now heading over to just west of Shawnee.
Yea I saw it...half the city in the dark now...saying high winds.
tornado threat is decreasing...
The thing’s only moving ~20mph
NWS announcing that tornado danger is now decreasing....Shep Smith reporting. There may be small tornados but overall decreasing. Cars overturned and powerlines down in Moore...

You got me by 7 seconds!
just got a text and niece was able to get out of Norman just before a touch down tornado....text just said “ headed south”.
Too dark to see the damage as well....unlike in Moore etc. they had plains in the air...but this is so massive they kept planes down once it kicked up.
Some motorists have now been officially listed as missing....
Good to hear...best to be out of town.
I can hear the hail hitting the firefighting unit radio.
This guy on Channel 9 is excellent .. no panic, no stupid hype, getting news and warnings out fast and calm, and good job riding herd on all his field people.
