In a broad slap at the the uncompromising stands of conservative Sens. Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Mike Lee, the liberal Brookings Institution's top political scholar charged this week that the Tea Party trio are leading the Republican Party to disaster and minority status.
Thomas Mann said that their stubborn style of politics that's been rapped even by some mainstream Republicans, notably the self-styled "maverick" Sen. John McCain, will lead to a voter revolt that will elect more Democrats to the House and Senate, the presidency, and eventually have the remaining GOP members begging to do business with Democrats.
[Snip]
[T]he solution to fixing Washington has only two routes: "Either a dominant one-party, Democratic system to get something done," he said, or a "situation where the Republican Party returns to its sanity and to a position of problem solving."

...notably the self-styled "maverick" "hothead" GangBang Sen. John McCainSince Jumpin' Johnny takes pride in his "Gang of Eight" relationship perhaps we should refer to him as "GangBang McCain".

The left is, once again, telling us who and what they fear.

Beck said they are doing a piece on rubio next week and it will destroy any hope that rubio has of a conservative career. I never did like the guy.

If they really believed this swill, they would be keeping it to themselves and laughing all the way to the ballot box.
Instead they are scared $hitless of these real conservatives.

Maybe the GOP needs to go the way of the Whigs? The Vichy Republicans are collaborators with the Progs. They need to be driven from power and a new party replace them! USIP is the answer—Best if the Tea Party can take over the GOP and bring it back to Reaganism. That or 3rd Party Time. Our British cousins have shown the way with the UKIP—The Tories have been in bed with the Liberals for too long and have lost their ability to be an opposition party — they are tokens only—Liberal-lite only. UKIP may well save the day.

"The RINOs have already killed the GOP."They didn't help. But lack of interest in solving problems has killed the GOP. Just to ask what were the best bills introduced by the GOP, you get 38 attempts to end Obamacare.
The GOP has to improve on, Obama is a socialist, was born in Africa, is a Muslim, married to Moon the moocher, etc. These didn't work, try 'we are going to do.....'.

Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers... [Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reform]
- ...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said. [Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance]

One day after announcing on his radio show that he is "truly considering" running in 2014 for the U.S. Senate seat now held by New Jersey's Frank Lautenberg, Rivera amped up his message today in a television interview and a column on the Fox News Latino website... a moderate Republican who is fiscally conservative but also supports gay marriage and Roe v. Wade... [Geraldo Rivera declares himself a 'moderate Republican' as he eyes U.S. Senate run]
