President Barack Obama is a nightmare for political comedians. He's too cool, too smart, too ... good at this whole leadership thing. That was the bill of goods comedians sold us five years ago, an excuse which prevented them from mocking Obama as they did every previous Commander in Chief.
Jay Leno wasn't buying that pile of horse manure.
Leno has consistently tweaked Obama in his Tonight Show monologues since the early days of the president's administration, the same way Leno handled President George W. Bush and President Bill Clinton.
This week, Leno turned up the heat to scorching levels while some of his peers resorted to full spin mode regarding Obama's cascade of scandals. Tuesday night, Leno mocked Obama's commencement address at Morehouse College as well as the president's claim that he learned about the latest scandals hitting his administration from watching news reports.
The ratings leader in his time slot, Leno positively crushed Letterman and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel in the just-released early May sweeps ratings.
It's too late for Leno to save his job, which will fall to Obama sycophant Jimmy Fallon next year. Leno will go out the same way he served late night viewers for the past 20-plus years, poking fun at the president in true satirist fashion.

You are correct. From the shows I have seen, he went easy on Obama before the election. He was much rougher on Romney. Now, with the election over, he has become more critical of Obama. He seems obsessed with attacking Bachman and Palin.
Leno did do Bush jokes about 5 times per night for a year after Bush was gone, then it dropped to once per night for a year or so, then down to a couple times a week until recently.
There was no call for that, he’s still an a**hole.

I don't watch him because of his clear partisanship, long ago I thought he was funny and I'm sorry to hear what he did with Linda Tripp (I wasn't watching any more).
That being said, I hope he continues to mock Bambi, but I still won't watch.
Nope. 10pm is a loser. Leno's been there, done that, failed. Fox (or somebody else) will reproduce Leno's 'Tonight Show' at 11pm and go toe-to-toe with Fallon and Letterman.

Obama should never have gotten a second term, but Leno and others gave him a free ride, and acted as if he was some holy character. It’s just shameful what they allowed to transpire.
No. That was Kathleen Willey who had her cat murdered by Clinton’s goons. In any event, the problem Leno had with Tripp was the secret taping of Lewinsky. For some reason, that is what rubbed him the wrong way. He considered Tripp a disloyal friend, like she violated omerta or something. He thought of her like a mob informant. A rat. It wasn’t necessarily that Leno had any great love for the Sink Masturbator.

I saw a clip of him being schooled by Dennis Miller running up to the election on FR. Leno had brought up how the GOP had a "war on women" (now where have we heard that talking point?), and Miller absolutely eviscerated him and Sandra Fluke (sp?).

Well sure, he would have problem with it. It was her only way to prove she wasn’t lying. And if she could prove that, then Leno’s leftist hero would be jeopardized.
I’m not buying the abused friend line. I agree with you that the Left made a big deal of it, but I’d like to know what Leno would do in the same situation. Would he just let the Clinton’s buffalo him, sick their team on him, and he just blow in the wind all exposed without trying to fight back?

You may be right about the cat. I could have sworn Tripp had an instance where a cat disappeared, then a shady male figure passed her and asked how the cat was doing, and she didn’t even know him.

I am certainly not defending Leno. I thought he was a real scumbag for going after Tripp the way he did.

I know I feel your steamed pain. At least she got a financial settlement but hardly enough for what she had to go through for simply being a truth teller.
That settlement was more than Elian Gonzalez got under the Clinton regime.
