It was more than legitimate, it was a moral necessity to demand that Obama provide the best available evidence of his place of birth. Unless he was born in the United States, he did not acquire U.S. citizenship at birth, because his mother was one year too young to have conveyed her American citizenship to her son, and his father was not an American citizen. Yet Obama refused to release what he claims to be his long form birth certificate until the end of April, 2011.

I doubt that Jay Carney knows even that tiny amount about Certifigate.

It’s not deflecting, it’s a threat from Zippo which basically means “If I go down, I’m taking everyone and everything down with me”.

During Bill Clinton’s impeachment Hillary had the same threat it was called “the scorched earth policy”.
