White House press secretary Jay Carney has been under serious pressure to handle the press grilling over the big scandals facing the Obama administration this past week, and when people get particularly stressed, they tend to do a lot of deflecting. In Carneys case, he attempted to dismiss all the criticism of the Benghazi, IRS, and AP scandals (as well as an emerging one about Health and Human Services secretary Kathleen Sebelius) by digging up what Bill OReilly would call an old canard: birtherism.
During todays press briefing, Carney sequentially smacked down the outrage over Benghazi, the IRS, and the AP seizures by blaming most of the scandal fever on over-the-top Republican outrage. When CBSs Major Garrett threw the fundraising scandal involving Sebelius into the mix, Carney deflected by dismissing all the outrage as misplaced as birtherism.
We could go down the list of questionswe could say What about the presidents birth certificate? Was that legitimate?
At this stage of the game, when outrage is building on both sides of the aisle, it may be just a little too late to dismiss this as just petty politics.
Word has it that the Agency is going to even the score on being thrown under the bus on Benghazi. Wouldn't it be sweet if the ‘big shoe’ that the Agency is about to drop is on the eligibility issue.
Foreshadowing....just like when Zero told the graduating class to ignore charges of tyranny in the government. One can only hope, but the pattern is emerging. Liberals words are their tell.
He is trying to deflect one scandal by mentioning another scandal.
“Word has it that the Agency is going to even the score on being thrown under the bus on Benghazi. Wouldn’t it be sweet if the big shoe that the Agency is about to drop is on the eligibility issue.”
hehehehehe I hope so.
It’s not deflecting, it’s a threat from Zippo which basically means “If I go down, I’m taking everyone and everything down with me”.
During Bill Clinton’s impeachment Hillary had the same threat it was called “the scorched earth policy”.
Forget about waiting for another shoe dropping this is becoming more like tap dancing.
