The same FPS police would have been there to protect federal property 20, 30 or 40 years ago - but they would not have been under the control of a Soviet style Commissar like Napolitano controlling a Soviet size police bureaucracy that has been aggregating more and more power every year.
In light of IRS scandal revelation, it would be reasonable to investigate whether Napolitano is now using the FPS to gather information on peaceable protesters and if so were is that information being disseminated.
It’s not hard to make _their_ connection between Tea Party / conservative people and terrorists.
They consider conservatives to be enemies of the State,
because we oppose the State being dominant over the liberty of the individual.
If I had my way,

Most people don't need to be intimidated. They just need to know what to believe, and to know what "they" want.
The Administration is moving ahead on multiple fronts, using very sophisticated disinformation and intimidation techniques, and has succeeded so far in concealing the high-level coordination that is required to pull it off.
They're close, very close, and they can taste it.

Who gives the orders to “monitor” (intimidate) Tea Partiers? Perhaps the order givers should start having “accidents”.
They seem to have lost the concept that We The People ARE the state, and that they are our servants!
Yeah, I remember the days when I’d come here on FR and read the after actions on things like the Code Pink counter protest/support our wounded heroes demonstrations at Walter Reed, or the demonstrations outside the VPs residence while the 2000 election was being decided.
They invariably included mention of how the Conservatives were the ones being respectful, even coordinating with, on-site security and law enforcement. I don’t remember a thing inferring that the Secret Service were a bunch of jack booted oppressors for monitoring a protest taking place outside a facility they were tasked to protect.
Every one of these IRS protests took place on or near federal property or facilities. I’d be upset if FPS wasn’t there ...

I suppose. And yet, we haven’t done anything typical terrorists do. We have done nothing that would cause terror in an individual. Our comments, our rallies may be unpopular, but beyond that people can just laugh us off.
They don’t have to live in fear that them or someone they love or know will be hurt by something we do.

BINGO!!! Direct hit. There's no way the massive, coordinated multi-agency attack on True the Vote could have happened without such coordination.
