My bride is a teacher. That is the kiss of death, and the parents know it. One tried to say my bride was teaching “white math to black kids” and was racist. She was lucky, and was able to say that she flunked more white kids than black.
Otherwise her teaching days might have been over.
I was a fifth grade teacher for six years, then got my counseling degree. Back then, whites lived in one area and blacks lived in another, so classes were not mixed.
