Kaitlyn Hunt, an 18-year-old high school student in Sebastian, Fla., is facing charges and has been expelled from school for having a same-sex relationship with a 15-year-old classmate, CBS Tampa Bay reports. PICTURES: Fla. teen charged over underage same-sex relationship Hunt is charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious battery of a child 12 to 16 years of age after the other girl's parents called authorities when Hunt, a senior at Sebastian River High School, turned 18, according to the station.

Of course it is, it’s what we do here...and apparently lots of us enjoy it. What better place to judge people, than on an anonymous web forum?
Of course not, it just happens to be the only web forum like this, that I visit.
A CHILD CANNOT “consent” to sex. Period.
true. case by case basis. again, no problem with that.
I asked the same question yesterday, and feel the same way. I’d let my daughter “date” someone a few years older under certain circumstances, but the second he laid a finger on her, I’d report him. “Dating” is NOT synonymous with sexual activity.
Why do you say the story is “stupid” if my assumption is not correct?
Individual differences exist but I speak with some experience on the subject, to wit: 4 younger sisters, 8 nieces and 2 granddaughters. The differences between an 18 year old and a 15 year old are obvious to anyone except for those who choose not to see them.
The gays are seizing on this case, to advance their calls for lowering the age of consent.
If they had their way, they would do away with the age of consent completely.
I believe, like some others, that it was stupid to bring the police into it.
You caught that too huh? It's his SOP.
Ruth ‘Buzzy’ Ginsberg said the age of consent should be 12.
Why tell me? I already know it. It’s what lots of us here do.
Considering that a crime was allegedly committed, why was that stupid?
I’m not telling you, I was telling Metmom, but since you were the subject of the post Freeper etiquette requires that you be pinged as well.
I don’t think it warrants possibly ruining that girls life.
That was extremely polite, thank you.
So some crimes should not be reported in order to protect the perpetrator? What possible reason would you have for thinking that, except that you don’t believe that adults taking sexual advantage of minors is a crime?
I know of a case where the boy was 21 and the girl 17. This violates the 3-yr max age differential where one party is under 18. The parents got the boy sentenced to several years in prison actually tried to get a restraining order to keep them separated after he was released but they left the state and now are legally married. He’s still trying to get the lifetime predator status removed from his records.
I ask you, what do you suppose caused the most trauma in the lives of these kids? Early sex or his encarceration and sex offender labeling?
“I dont think it warrants possibly ruining that girls life.”
The 18 yrs old dyke ruined her own life.
Under 16 is a crime. It doesn’t matter if the dyke was 18 or 45.
If the "victim" were 16, it would not be a crime, even if Kaitlin, the "rapist", was TWENTY FOUR.
Florida statute 794.05 Unlawful sexual activity with certain minors.--
(1) A person 24 years of age or older who engages in sexual activity with a person 16 or 17 years of age commits a felony of the second degree
