Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) asked Attorney General Eric Holder to investigate election integrity org True the Vote and its associated Tea Party group, King Street Patriots, immediately before the IRS and DOJ began targeting the group in June 2010.
Rep. Jackson Lee sent a letter to Holder which alleged that True the Vote was intimidating voters and their election monitors were crossing the line in unspecified instances of voter intimidation. The letter went on to directly assert that the alleged events were factual and that the True the Vote effort was behind the crimes. The letter offered no documented instances or data of any kind.

Rep. Shelia Jackson Lee Commits Voter Fraud As Witnessed By Texas Tea Party Poll Watchers.
October 26, 2010
Excerpt:
True the Vote, the anti-voter fraud initiative started by the Texas Tea Party group King Street Patriots, says Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-Texas) has been electioneering outside of polling places.
Jackson-Lee, on the other hand, says she has been concerned by allegations of voter intimidation by poll watchers in Harris County, where True the Vote has launched an aggressive anti-voter fraud campaign.
Yohannes Tsehai, Jackson-Lees chief of staff, told TPMMuckraker that their office reached out to both the Department of Justice and the Harris County Attorneys office. As TPMMuckrakerreported, DOJ is gathering information on the allegations./

I wonder if there are any intellectually honest Democrats out there who have reflected on the quite real possibility that, if it weren’t for voter fraud, they and their ideas would have been kicked to the curb by the electorate decades ago.

True the Vote, a nonpartisan, Houston-based nonprofit focusing on electoral integrity has revealed some startling information. Their effort, which started out of a small tea party group, focused on volunteering as poll workers in their local 2009 elections. According to the groups founder, Catherine Engelbrecht, what started as a simple effort to exercise civic duty and get involved brought them face to face with what she referred to as frightening and gross incompetence on the part of some election and county workers at the polls. Engelbrecht pointed out in her interview with Townhall that even though Texas law allowed 11 different forms of identification to be used at that time to verify identity, which was required to vote, she and her 70 election volunteers noticed that many voters were being allowed to vote without any identification at all. Texas has since passed voter identification laws which require the use of a photo identification card.

Well, perhaps we should ask why enforcing voter registration laws is considered “intimidation”.
After all, black guys with clubs standing outside a polling place isn’t considered intimidation.
