Republican lawmakers are launching an investigation into claims that the Environmental Protection Agency, while giving preferential treatment to environmental groups, made it harder for conservative groups to obtain government records.
“According to documents obtained by the Committees, EPA readily granted FOIA fee waivers for environmental allies, effectively subsidizing them, while denying fee waivers and making the FOIA process more difficult for states and conservative groups,” wrote Republican lawmakers, including Rep. Darrell Issa and Sens. David Vitter, Chuck Grassley and Jim Inhofe in a letter to the EPA.
Citing a report by The Daily Caller News Foundation, Republicans are asking the EPA to hand over all Freedom of Information Act fee waiver requests, responses to requests, and FOIA officer training materials since the beginning of the Obama administration.
Lawmakers are also asking for all communications regarding FOIA fee waiver requests or appeals under the Obama administration....

The problem with the Environmental Protection Agency is the name. Any time you criticize anything they do, you’re against protecting the environment. The only way to ever fix the EPA is to replace it with another agency that sounds even nicer.
I guess we know the answer to Gov Palin's question in 2008 about just what does a community organizer do???

Great 6 min video , they started in 09 harassing many conservative business owners like Gibson. In this case they used Justice, EPA and fish and game. NO charges filed.
No, they have been harassing business owners for a long, long time. Back before I retired I worked as an Environmental, Health & Safety manager for several businesses. There is a reason that some permit processes can take several years and result in permits that are 3, 3-inch binders thick. And any business that violates some rule in the 9-inch thick document can get shut-down. I recall one process for a company that had spent over 5 years trying to get a permit to operate. I took over the file and realized they were below any threshold requirement for even needing to apply for a permit. The company, "acting in good faith," applied 5 years ago. It took me running the numbers on emissions, using the the agencies own engineering calculations and piling a stack of documents on a conference table with the regional director, to secure their now 'waiver.' A waiver they never needed to begin with and do not need to operate. The EPA isn't full of activists, the kids coming out of the colleges today are already indoctrinated as part of obtaining their degree in things like: environmental social justice, environmental management and the urban community, http://www.csuohio.edu/undergradcatalog/urb/programs/envstu.htm
I agree with you, what seem to change in 09 is they begin to partner with many other depts including Justice to really put the screws to conservative donors.

This branch of the agency has not always existed. If you go to the linked page do some ‘clicking’ around. You will notice under the awards tab, awards did not go out until 2008. Your comment is about how things changed in ‘09. Look at the awards and who received them. You will notice a peculiar trend. Interesting that the administration now thinks the excuse of just being ‘idiots’ is better than the alternative, criminals.
This tells us all we need to know. Sad thing is, the Obama supporters will let that excuse win the day because they identify with it...they are idiots too! LOL! Obama and his handlers know this and it tells me that they have no respect for their own supporters or the media.
