Update at 8:06 p.m., by Tristan Hallman: Tornado warning now in effect in Tarrant and Johnson counties.
Tornadoes have touched down in Pecan Plantation (a residential town near Granbury) and northeast of Decatur.
Update at 8 p.m., by Tristan Hallman: NWS reporting baseball-sized hail in Granbury not far from the town’s high school.
Update at 7:43 p.m. by Tristan Hallman: A tornado has been spotted developing in Hood County near Lake Granbury, the National Weather Service reports. Granbury is in the storm’s path.
Update at 7:34 p.m., by Tristan Hallman: And then there were fewer: Hamilton, Mills, Montague, Parker and Wise counties are still under tornado warnings. Out is Palo Pinto.
Update at 7:27 p.m., by Tristan Hallman: Two tornadoes have been confirmed in Parker County, the National Weather Service reports. The larger of the two tornadoes could cross Interstate 20 around mile marker 409.
Update at 7:10 p.m., by Tristan Hallman: Comanche and Jack counties are no longer under tornado warnings.
But Hamilton, Mills, Montague, Palo Pinto, Parker and Wise counties still are.

Update at 6:30 p.m. by Tristan Hallman: Watches are quickly becoming warnings in some places. Comanche, Hamilton, Jack, Mills, Montague, Palo Pinto, Parker and Wise counties are all under tornado warnings.
There are also reports of hail pelting Mineral Wells.

The weather maps are showing purple in San Saba county. Last week they had so much hail and rain that the main street was rushing with ice. Their water treatment aka city park has a small water fall feature that was gushing. Do y’all remember the story last week about the 105 year old bacon lady, Pearl Cantrell? She’s in San Saba county.

Freeper reporting in from Granbury, Texas. The worst hit area appears to be Rancho Brazos. A family in our church lost their home and van tonight, but their family and pets are safe. Several of the homes in that area were Habitat for Humanity homes and the owners had spent hours building homes there in that program. The death toll is said to be 6 with several people reported missing. There were many injuries. Daylight will tell us more. Churches and fellow residents are quickly coming to their aid. Neighbors help neighbors in our town. Please keep the prayers coming for those who have lost so much tonight.
City of Ennis in Ellis County got hit by an F0-F1 OR straight line winds recorded at 80 mph about 90 mins ago. Dairy Queen reported collapsed, thousands without power, at least 7 buildings have collapsed, structure damage, trees down, injuries...a real mess is unfolding in Ennis right now.
SO. Grandbury and Ennis have both gotten hit hard. Double bad news.
Taco Bell collapsed in Ennis off 45.
Don’t forget Cleburne.
I-Hop in Ennis had roof ripped off with patrons eating inside. Ennis Inn Motel reportedly destroyed.

My husband was working at the Cash America building there on the Trinity river. The first floor lobby became a triage unit because at the time it was the first major building nearby.
I had to go get my husband because his car was demolished. It looked like the entire Texas Rangers baseball team took their bats to it all at once. Never seen anything like it before or since.
No, I missed the article about Pearl.
We sure could use some of the rain you speak of. The last 2 years have been the worst since the drought of 1895. But I don’t need the hail, we are days away from harvesting our wheat. We are in the seed business and scratching to have enough production for our normal customers this fall.
All of the really severe weather was west and south of us here, so we didn't get hail any bigger than 1/4".
