The media piled onto Clinton in '93, rallied behind him again for the '94 elections, piled onto him again in '95, rallied behind him again for the '96 elections, piled onto him again in '97, rallied behind him again for '98 elections, piled onto him again in '99, and then rallied behind Algore for the 2000 elections.
The media is following the same pattern with Obama, except that they were too much in love with Obama to say anything bad about him during his entire first term. Plus, if you say anything bad about Our Glorious Leader you are clearly a racist. That also stifled them quite a bit until they saw that other media types were starting to get away with criticizing Obama without being labeled as a racist.
I fully expect the media to rally around Obama and the Democrats next year, and then start piling on again after the 2014 elections. They will then rally around the Democrats again before the 2016 elections.
This time, it’s different.
What the media knows is that call records for 20 of the AP’s phone numbers were grabbed for a few months.
Holder would not say more than that. So who else has had their call records grabbed? NY Times? ABC? CNN? They must assume that ALL of them have had their phone records snagged by this administration.
And if they grabbed the call records, could they have wiretapped the actual calls too? In the absence of anything contrary they’ve got to assume that THAT also happened.
That makes Obama big and scary enough to their survival that they may finally get over their ideological fealty to him and start standing up for their own First Amendment rights.
