PS Some truths:

the BRCa genes confer both ovarian and breast cancer risks.

Other unidentified genetic abnormalities are implicated but not as well defined.

All vaccines for ovarian cancer are in phase one or two trials. One is in phase three but while promising are not definitely imvestigated. So far they are given to women who have cancer, not as preventatives.

OVCa is way more deadly than Breast ca but not as common. With the genetic risks, if you have more than one first degree relative with breast or ovca, the testing is necessary!

Other cancers are at incidence with the genes including colon cancer

The only definitive treatment for ovca is surgery and most of the time, chemo. Death rates are high, better than a few years ago but five yr survival is about 30 percent.

Prevention if at high risk is taking breasts and ovaries and tubes out.

Prevention is a Godsend.

If you do a search on the internet you will find stories about local breast cancer survivors applauding Jolie.

So Jolie waits to see if she is fortunate to be in the 10% that doesn’t get the cancer.

oops..she is not so fortunate..and then...
