Republican heavyweight drops 'I-Bomb': Impeachment

"The most serious, most egregious cover-up in American history...."

In regards to the current Congressional hearing on the terrorist attack against the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, one of the senior and most respected Republican lawmakers in Washington, D.C. has uttered the word that sends shivers up the spine of any elected official - impeachment, as reported by the non-partisan news portal Digital Journalism via Google News on May 13, 2013.

Long serving Oklahoma U.S. Senator James "Jim" Inhofe recently was a guest on the Las Vegas-based radio program "The Rusty Humphries Show" in which he refered to the Sept. 11, 2012 attack on sovereign American soil by an al-Qaeda allied terrorist organization as a Barack Obama cover-up of the truth which resulted in the deaths of four Americans (video, left).

Inhofe opined that the lack of transparency by the Obama Administration would ensure the attack would be chronicled by historians:

Of all the great cover-ups in history, [Benghazi] is going to go down as the most serious, most egregious cover-up in American history.

Senator Inhofe doesn’t have a whole lot of credibility on this issue, as he nixed the idea of a hearing before the 2012 election, when it would have done more good. In other words, this sounds like typical GOP empty talk.

His "disgrace" made him even MORE popular with all the stupids (an especially large amount of women) who voted him in...twice.

The Republicans played their cards horribly, allowing the Democrats to claim that they were trying to "undo the election". The Republicans should have responded by pointing out that their political interests would be better served by having a lame duck President Clinton in office than a President Gore who would be eligible for reelection not just once, but twice; they are nonetheless duty bound to impeach any President who breaks the law, even if ignoring the crimes would be politically more expedient.

It’s pertinent to every story CNN won’t be covering while they exploit victims of torture victims in Cincinnati.

Nothing exceeds exploitation like yet more exploitation.

It is pertinent to the Boston bombing, Benghazi, AP wire taps, Gosnell. That a major news outlet exploits a story (sake-n-bake) for the very reason of neglecting others is entirely pertinent to those other stories.

If your have a morbid fascination with with torture, enjoy the CNN coverage, I meant nothing personal.

What’s the point in impeaching now when Senate is controlled by Dems?

“What’s the point in impeaching now when Senate is controlled by Dems?”

Obviously, it wouldn’t occur. But supposing the GOP were able to capture the Senate in 2014, it might theoretically occur in 2015. But given the Republicans’ chronic cowardice and incompetence, how likely is that?

If its all about politics, then there is no point in impeaching until it is politically expedient for your party.

Of course he should be impeached. I was just being a member of the chorus. He wouldn't be removed from office because, as you say, no one would fight him,

He was elected because of his race. He was re-elected because the GOP didn't put up anyone who would remotely beat him. What a waste...all of it.

bread and circuses...

Are you saying that we haven't changed ONE iota from all our past? Well, we haven't. How could we? Education, money, all the stuff in the world doesn't build character.

Entitlement is our American curse.

Listen, I’m all for going for impeachment. He’s earned it. The question is would you rather make a symbolic, gesture now and get a Pyrrhic victory (House votes to impeach, Senate doesn’t find him guilty) or wait til 2014, try to take the Senate and actually get this incompetent joke out of office?

Worse comes to worst, we’ll likely still have the House in 2014. Even if we don’t take the Senate back, we can push for impeachment in 2014 and achieve the same results as we’d get today.

Options:
1. Keep President Obama
2. Welcom in President Biden

Waste of time.

There might be enough votes in the House for Impeachment, but there are not enough votes in the Senate to convict. The Democrats in the Senate wouldn’t to vote to convict Obama is he murdered someone right in front of them during the State of the Union address.

Worse, the MSM would leap back to full attack mode in Obama’s defense, more so even than they did for Clinton. The MSM worships Obama and they would support their little tin god in defiance of law, facts, and morality.

The main thing the ‘Pubbies need to do is to taint Obama to the point that everything he tries to push is stopped, Obamacare, if it can’t be repealed, is at least de-funded and the ‘Pubbies in the Senate should block all of his future appointees. Hold the line until 2014, and we might be able to get them a majority in both the House and Senate. (Not that it will do that much good in the Senate...)

I’d rather listen to Biden. At least he’s amusing in how dumb he is. Obama’s plain evil.
