- A new genetic design is intellectual property and should be protected.
- That agreement should have been in writing (and I'm guessing probably was) prior to selling the farmer the seeds.
- However, if the farmer didn't buy genetically modified seeds and instead his crops were contaminated by pollen in the wind or on insects,then that seed should be allowed. Even though the new DNA appears in the seed.
