I know my daughter in Oregon is upset that they wont be teaching cursive writing. At least she managed to move her son from a school that spoke only Spanish for half the day.

Interesting. Is this a public school?

Personally, I would be more than happy if schools began teaching Spanish from K or Gr 1. For one, children learn languages much easier at an earlier age. We can hate it all we want, but the reality is, speaking Spanish will be an expected (and paid for) skill for today's elementary school student.
