Pressure on the Obama administration to release more information about the Benghazi attack grew Thursday, as House Speaker John Boehner demanded officials turn over emails pertaining to the controversial "talking points" and another top Republican appealed for more whistle-blowers to come forward.
On the heels of a dramatic hearing where three whistle-blowers testified, Fox News has learned that former Vice President Dick Cheney on Thursday, on the Hill for a meeting with House Republicans, also told lawmakers: "I think Hillary (Clinton) should be subpoenaed if necessary."
The comments and developments signal that Republicans will continue to press for answers on the deadly Sept. 11 attack. Despite arguments from Democrats that the hearing was not nearly as shocking as Republicans made it out to be, GOP lawmakers said it raised troubling questions that need to be investigated.
"The truth shouldn't be hidden from the American people behind a White House firewall," Boehner said Thursday. "Four Americans lost their lives in this terrorist attack. Congress will continue to investigate this issue, using all of the resources at our disposal."
Boehner specifically urged the Obama administration to make public a set of internal emails that some lawmakers had been able to review but not keep.
One of the emails apparently showed a top State Department official saying a group affiliated with Islamic terrorists was responsible for the strike. Separate emails, though, allegedly depict the White House and State Department pressing lower-level officials to remove references to terrorism in talking points about the attacks.
Based on those talking points, U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice would go on five Sunday talk shows shortly after the attacks to claim they were triggered by protests over an anti-Islam film. Top officials would later claim the flawed assessment was based on the best intelligence

Hint: it won't be to "repent".
Pickering is a professional bureaucrat and a card-carrying member of the Washington Establishment, Foggy Bottom chapter.
What do you mean?
Yes, Pickering is an insider’s insider. But if he first declined to testify, and as of Wednesday he wants to, that would suggest that he heard something yesterday that he wants to squelch real hard. That runs counter to the party line put out today that there is nothing to see here.
That internal review that Hillary assigned Pickering and Mullens to conduct seems to be under some review itself, although the administration has tried to discount that by saying that all such internal reviews are part of the action.
There is something there that is very important.
Beck said that he had copies of files on the Saudi person of interest whose status got quickly and mysteriously altered. That all seemed to fizzle out. I was wondering if anyone knew of anything further from him on this
I asked Texax2009 who was going to be impeached???
The Inspector General of the State Department is investigating the ARB because there were a number of people who wanted to testify, but weren't invited.
Indeed, some of the principals weren't interviewed at all. Among others, Hillary and Hicks.
Further, there was evidently no stenographer and no recording of any of the interviews. Nor were witnesses allowed to review a transcript of their testimony (there being none). Accordingly, the Board was free to edit the testimony in a fashion favorable to their conclusion (or just make it up).
At this point, I would imagine the Committee would defer to the IG rather than have Pickering testify -- as it is not the ARB that is under investigation, but the event itself. Pickering's desire to testify is likely self-serving.
Whoa, Boehner is talking tough. C’mon, Boehner, grow a back bone.
I haven’t kept up with him but noted that there haven’t been posts about it any more, which I figure would be posted if he said more about it. I did hear the beginning of an interview he had with Rep Louie Gohmert and he mentioned that Gohmert was given the information that Beck had. Hardraade had mentioned that somebody from DHS had been asking around on a counter-terrorism site as to whether people believed Beck’s claims about Alhamdi being Bamza. As far as I know, Beck hasn’t come right out with the claim, and I suspect that somebody leaked the claim to beforeitsnews.com so that people would immediately disbelieve it and then it could never get legs if Beck brought it up.
But the members of Congress are a different story. They could make this a public issue by calling a press conference. They’re not doing that yet, and I’m wondering if they are trying to coordinate things with Benghazi, as well as possibly Fast & Furious and the findings of Arpaio’s Cold Case Posse. I actually hope so. I hope they are channeling the serious whistle-blowers into a course that can bear the necessary fruit and not just be blown off by most of Congress.
A Great Prayer to Pray. May God Hear us!
Who does he think he is, an officer of the Government?
IMHO, Gen. Ham would have a fatal car accident long before he ever testified in public .... what he saw and heard would fry Obama like a potato crisp.
From your keyboard to God's ears .... the Perfect Storm. How 30,000,000 Negroes and 6,000,000 gays and 80,000,000 women can be Wrong.
From your keyboard to God's ears .... and Bonebag's, and Issa's, and Cantor's .... all of 'em.
Guennie, I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day....Dallas
He well might be one of them but I would not put him at number one....and so many from which to choose. Where does one start??
