If anyone suggests that nothing new was said in todays Benghazi hearing its just not true. It doesnt take a smoking gun to solve a murder case, and the absence of a smoking gun here doesnt take away from the fact that huge doubt was cast both on the Obama administrations diligence with respect to its mission in Libya and its sincerity in explaining what had happened after the fact.
There were several important revelations in todays testimony. They come from sources that are not mere partisan hacks, but civil servants who experienced the Benghazi attacks up close and have since, in some cases, suffered retaliation from the Obama administration for daring to step forward.
Here are a few of the lessons from today, just the quick and dirty version:

What Benghazi attacks? There were Benghazi attacks?
There wasn’t anything on the news about it... (sarc/off)
That sounds like incontrovertible proof that 0bama, Hillary, Jay Carney and Susan Rice are all bald-faced liars.
Proof positive of a coverup.
Hillary will not take the fall for Obama. Clintons are still the most powerful politicians in Washington. She will turn on him in a heartbeat if pressed. She has already brought down one president (Nixon). Nothing is going to stand in her way for the White House. Nothing.
I hope she does turn on him but she has no way out of this.
The best item today was exposure of Cheryl Mills. She is Hillarys hit woman. Was the lawyer who represented Clintoon at Impeachment hearings.
They put a dagger in it.
She instructed embassy people to not allow Rep Chaevitz to be alone with personnel. Sent a minder along 9alka former KGB in USSR) and he got shut out of a meeting too classified for his puny clearance. Mills went nuts. Love it

Isn’t that obstruction of justice?
If there is any justice, this will bring Obama down like Nixon. May he fall even lower than Nixon did.
Nixon didn’t leave people to die.
It is at least obstruction of Congress - a crime

The most surprising event of the whole day IMO. I knew her name was connected to notoriety but I couldn’t remember why. Then I did the same thing - googled her name. Imagine my surprise to find out she’s been Chief of Staff for Hillary since 2009 and Chief counsel to the State Department. Boy! They can sure can fly beneath the radar in DC when they want to! I had no idea she was connected in any way to a government agency.
At the end of the hearing today, someone (forget just who) called her a “non Senate confirmed” employee of the State Department. How could she have been Hillary’s chief of staff all these years and her name has never been mentioned?
What on earth do we have to do to drain the swamp that is the State Department? The whole of DC for that matter.
.
Mark Thompson, a former Marine and official with the State Departments Counterterrorism Bureau, said he was rebuffed by the White House when he asked for a specialized team known as a FEST team to be deployed. This is a unit made of special operations personnel, diplomatic security, intelligence and other officers.
Suggesting that some were hesitant to deploy because they were unsure what was happening, One definition of a crisis is you do not know whats going to happen in two hours, he said.
Further, Hicks explained how a separate team of special forces personnel were not given the authorization to fly from Tripoli to Benghazi.
I’ve been waiting for that harpy to get it in the neck for over a decade.
