Maybe they can drop the requirement to qualify with both a revolver and a semi auto if you wish to carry both.
Are you sure that is a requirement?

Sorry, I found it. You are correct. I word searched for “revolver” in the laws and did not see it. Searching for “category” to me to it.
That should be removed, in my opinion as well.
Ummm... IIRC when I was licensed if you qualed with revolver you were licensed for revolver - if you qualed with pistol you were licensed for either.
That's not the current requirement. It is that 1. If you qualify with a revolver you may only carry a revolver; 2. If you qualify with a s/a you may carry a s/a and/or a revolver.
“Maybe they can drop the requirement to qualify with both a revolver and a semi auto if you wish to carry both.”
This is not the case now!!!
If you qualify with a pistol (semi-auto), you do not have to qualify with a revolver. If you qualify with a revolver, then you are restricted to revolvers and must qualify with a pistol to remove the restriction.
Looks like the new bill with not change SA vs NSA requirement.

Simply qualify with a pistol and you can carry a revolver legally. IF you qualify with a revolver you are restrcited to a revolver but no restriction if you qualify with a pistol.
If you qualify with semi auto, you can carry both. However, if you qualify with the revolver, you can only carry the revolver.
