US Air Force (USAF) veteran Julie Frein said she is willing to give up her burial plot at Arlington National Cemetery to Tamerlan Tsarnaev - the deceased Boston bombing suspect.
The Anne Arundel County woman told Fox45 she feels the terrorist suspect should be able to be laid to rest and just wants it to all be over.
"I feel sympathy for [his family] in that as long as this issue is open, they can't have closure," Frein told Fox45's Joy Lepola. When asked how she thought Americans would react to the suspect being buried in a national cemetery, Frein replied, "Well the country would just have to get over that, wouldn't they? Because nobody, nobody deserves to rot above ground."
Frein has already called the funeral home in Massachusetts where Tsarnaev's body is currently stored and is in the process of contacting the Office of Veteran Affairs to see if she will be able to offer up her plot.
Frein served in the USAF for two years. Her husband served in the US Navy for 20 years.
You cannot be buried in a National Cemetary unless you are a veteran or the spouse of a veteran. Remember when Clinton tried to sell a plot in Arlington? He quickly backed down on that idea.
No way Arlington allows this and she needs psyche evil and straight jacket.
No, they didn’t. I was in the USAF during Vietnam, and the enlistment was four years. The only service that had a two year hitch was the Army with draftees.
How about an incinerator along with all the other garbage. Use him for fertilizer for all I care. Keep him out of Arlington.
This deranged broad out to be hit in the head with a 2x4 and shipped to Afganistan.
Yep.. The minimum is four. The Air Force may have requested the honor of her absence.
Nope, Navy and Air Force enlistments were definitely both for four years during Vietnam. Draftees served two years active but I believe that only the Army had three year enlistments during that time. (Sorry, I'm not 100% certain on that last item. I joined the Navy.)
I asked that on another thread today. There's plenty of muzzies in this country. They have to have their own undertakers and cemeteries. Let them take him.
Related to Jane Fonda?
This Veteran could offer whatever she likes but that terrorist is not a United States military Veteran of any sort so he is ineligible to be interred at Arlington National Cemetery.
‘Sone’ People were in favor of the WTC mosque. They arent going to get it. So this is the next best thing to insult America..
Boston Bombing Ping!
Disgusting! I thought it was satire at first.
kumbuya
Simply serving TWO lousy years does NOT earn you a burial spot at Arlington.
Are these the type of terrorist-loving pussified women we have in the military? Pathetic..
Edit “SOME”
Also on the Vets only rule...Look for Rep Ellison to push for a waiver. Soon.
What she is proposing is not even allowed under Federal law. This story sounds extremely bogus.
The Marines and Army used to do two year enlistments during Vietnam.
I did a little googling and while I haven’t verified it yet, it seems that during the last decade, perhaps all the services had two year enlistments, even the navy.
“”Updated February 24, 2011
Beginning in October, 1 percent of new fiscal 2004 Air Force enlisted accessions, or about 370 recruits, will be able to sign up for a 15-month enlistment, as part of the National Call to Service program.””
