Addressing Planned Parenthood last week, President Obama made what must be one of the least self-aware statements of his tenure. "Forty years after the Supreme Court affirmed a woman's constitutional right to privacy, including the right to choose, we shouldn't have to remind people that when it comes to a woman's health, no politician should get to decide what's best for you," he said. "No insurer should get to decide what kind of care that you get. The only person who should get to make decisions about your health is you."
It's no secret that

Anti-truth, anti-freedom, anti-individual, anti-life SCUMBAG POS TREASONOUS TOTALITARIAN.
FUBO
Was this part of the Street organizer mentality of always being on the winning side to get other people to do what he wanted?
Maybe "pro-choice" libertarians should be called LieBarbarians ?
.
Agreed that there is a vocal group of libertarians, but nothing like a majority. If you are a libertarian hanging out here, you are lost. This is, was, and always will be a conservative website.
There is nothing libertarian about an act designed to take anther person’s life.
That is called murder! There was no mutual consent to this act, nor any willfully choice on the part of the one who was killed.

They were simply murdered because someone else didn’t want to accept responsibility for their own actions. This is no different than killing your banker because you don’t want to repay the lone you just took out.
I was wondering when Free Republic became a libertarian site. My browser still brings up a completely conservative manifesto, right down to sodomite “marriage”, immigration, etc.
“Maybe “pro-choice” libertarians should be called LieBarbarians ?”
Perhaps Although in truth their position is simply hypocritical for one of two reasons:
1: They could be pretending to decide for other humans whether or not they are a person protected from being killed.
2: They ignore that decision and simply focus on their own need to be rid of that ‘problem’ they created by their own willfully choice to have sex.
In truth abortion is no different than someone rationalize the murder of their landlord so they don’t have to pay rent.
A real libertarian knows that the basic unit of life is the Individual. That respect for the Rights of the Individual come first. Killing a human is by definition murder, regardless of if that human resides in the womb of another human.
Anyone who tells you otherwise is either lying about being a libertarian or has never thought the calculus through.
Or, is trying to paint us all with the same brush to further their own anti-freedom agenda...
I know. I've been a Freeper since 1997.
My comments on this site thru the years prove I'm ultra-conservative, if you take a look at them.
I would not call myself a "Libertarian".
Unlike LieBarbarians, I'm also against open borders. But I hold many libertarian views. Again, 2 big exceptions are abortion and borders.
You need to refresh your web cash... Just kidding. Free republic is a conservative site. American Conservatives are just libertarians on most issues.
What is it exactly you are trying to “conserve”? A respect for freedom, our Rights, and our Republic?
Or are you just fighting over the controls of our degenerate “Democracy”
If the latter, maybe YOU are on the wrong site...
“No insurer should get to decide what kind of care that you get.”
That’s great! I guess Tricare (military insurance) will now cover the TWO medications I was recently prescribed that they wouldn’t pay for!
The mistake that you are making when you call yourself a “libertarian conservative” is this: “Small l” libertarians and conservative both tend to fall under the “Republican” umbrella, but they are two essentially different political philosophies. A good rule of thumb is generally (but not always) “What would Reagan do?”
It's not. The belief comes from the meglomania that creates libertarians. Most of us probably leaned libertarian when we were in college because we thought we were smarter than everyone else. Those of us who really were smart became conservatives, because we recognized how naive the libertarian world view actually was. My estimate is that perhaps as many as 15% of the regular posters on FR are libertarians.
Wisdom has taught me to avoid debating libertarians so I will say this: This is not about right or wrong. I respect that you feel strongly about your position. My point was that this website self-identifies as conservative. As you are not a conservative I don’t see why you are not inspired to create your own dedicated libertarians website.
IOW, you have no idea what you are trying to “conserve”...
Here’s a hint, it starts with an “L”... Our Constitution was founded to preserve it.
The demographic damage done to blacks by legalized abortion can clearly be seen in every US city as they shift from black to brown; blacks now “ride in back” (to paraphrase the Kenyan Pirate) and are no longer the fair-haired boys of the Dems. Hispanics are increasing their role dramatically in the Dem machine, at the cost of blacks and white libs (in terms of political offices, patronage jobs, etc.). In the private sector companies that were being extorted by the legal arm of the government have simply resorted to fill their employees’ ranks with Hispanics, and they are untouchable by the diversity police.
