WASHINGTON (AP) One of three college students arrested Wednesday in the Boston Marathon bombings case was allowed to return to the United States from Kazakhstan in January despite not having a valid student visa, a federal law enforcement official told The Associated Press.
Authorities charged the student a friend and classmate of one of the men accused of setting off the deadly explosions with helping after the attacks to remove a laptop and backpack from the bombing suspect's dormitory room before the FBI searched it.
The government acknowledged that U.S. Customs and Border Protection was unaware that the student was no longer in school when he was let back into the United States.
The disclosure was another instance of possible lapses by the federal government in the months before the Boston bombings. The Obama administration earlier this week announced an internal review of how U.S.

Thanks for the post CO. In case this one slides by you E., and your ping lists.
Maybe just maybe if we had tighter imagration policies we wouldnt have as much trouble with Islamic Terrorism .
Yah; I said it! ;)
This is why we need comprehensive immigration enforcement.
WTF are the FBI and DHS doing besides plotting to kill off Conservative Americans????

Our current immigration laws are fine... they ARE NOT enforced!

This is under direct orders from Obama to not send anyone away.
The stench is growing larger and worse, isn’t it? Obama should call another press conference to do more damage... control...
There isn’t one family member or friend who doesn’t have an arrest record or is a major failure. This is what we’re welcoming into the US.
Boston Bombing Ping!
Think there is just one in Boston, maybe two in NYC, maybe one in Florida, possibly two in Miami, and Chicago? (None in Detroit, of course, too smart to go there). Americans are screwed because politicians have sold this country for power and votes.
It's pretty clear to me the one fellow there quit attending classes so he could get his visa cancelled, and he'd turn into an IN STATE TUITION ELIGIBLE STUDENT.
The current immigration policies of a number of states (the instate/outofstate thing is as much an element of immigration policy as is getting busted for driving drunk and killing people and not having an American driver's license) are COUNTERPRODUCTIVE
And so....if this is the case we can expect those who are “illegally” here will be found out easily and deported ASAP?......likely many will be on the run as word of this gets out fast to students.
At some point these arseclowns will lose the ability to control any of their damage. That is truly scary.

I returned from my trip to Canada earlier this week....and entered thru at Pembina, ND. Oh, did they search and check everything.... passport, cell phone, vehicle.....almost their whole riot act
Yet...an Islamic Terrorist is just whisked right thru. One of Marco Rubio’s chosen people
You bet I am PO’d....not at the CBP folks who searched and interrogated me.....but at all who are pushing Illegal Alien-Islamic Terrorist Amnesty....they will allow this crap to continue
Would not surprise me that this was his plan....why pay full tuition as a legal student when you can get in state tuition as an illegal alien
Here’s a larger problem of... Little known colleges taking foreign student’s money in exchange for enabling them to work in the US.
The university listed “553 students as living in a single two-bedroom apartment”..... near the college;... in fact, students were spread out across the country, from Texas to Illinois to Maryland.
Legal filings called Tri-Valley a “sham university” that admitted and collected tuition from foreign students but didn’t require them to attend class.
Many students allegedly worked full-time, low-level retail jobsin one case, at a 7-Eleven in New Jerseythat were “passed off as career training” so they could be employed while on student visas.

Here in north Jersey a lot of Indian students work at gas stations and convenience stores owned by relatives; I’m surprised at how frank & trusting they are divulging this to strangers.
“It’s a simple student violation of their visas” so says the Boston immigration lawyer. Wonder how much those lawyers are paid via taxes, pretty sure the immigrants can’t afford such representation.
I didn’t see where it talked of locating the others. Will have to go back and read it again!
