Hey, a half a billion here and a half billion there and pretty soon, we’re talking real money here.
Duct tape ought to do ‘er.
Sounds like this issue is due to problems with the relatively new Mitsubishi steam generators. This would be a good time to either have Mitsubishi pay for all the fixes or have the NRC ban the use of Mitsubishi steam generators for the defects identified. One thing I will say, completely as a layman, it appears the Japanese nuclear industry sucks. I lived over there for a few years and they were always having nuclear accidents.
This administration’s goal is to wipe out the coal fired power plants, while this problem with a nuke plant is like a gift to their ultimate aim of raising power costs so high that wind or solar a potential. If the regulators have their way at this point, they will drag their feet and one of the few remaining nuke plants in the US will close down. Yes - the manufacturer of the defective tubes should be paying the costs of fixing things, but it will be a moot point if Zero’s minions have their way and the plant is closed. Horrible shame.
Who's supplying that? Venezuela and Cuba?
Who needs power plants? Soon we will all be driving electric cars and everyone knows that they do not require any power at all. Sort of like Algore’s mansions and planes.
It’s the Dolly Parton National Monument - they can’t shut it down!
Ha Ha. We used to call the San Onofre Nuclear plant the “twin tits of power.”
